Well, I don't know how to respond to your last post blue but if you're going to take that tone you won't be welcome here. It's not a tone I've taken with you nor is it consistent with any of the post I've made.

Actually you involved yourself in a conversation that wasn't directed at you. It involved a decision an umpire made in the game last night. You're going to be a great umpire some day. Your a great kid and as I said repeatedly here and on the other fourm I appreciate your efforts. You've stated your opinion but where you have gone way to far is with the personal attacks. I didn't attack you personally. You're going to have to get a lot thicker skin if you're going to be an umpire. And no I'm not going to address this call with you further because its not about YOU its about the interpretation of a call which appears to be in error.

maybe i wasnt meant to be in this conversation but i will tell uyou it is easy to trash someone on the phone! anyways yes ur right u are entitled to your own opinion! but what the blue called is final and no he wont go away! so with that said i would like to end this and more forward. in my mind there are those people out there who feel the same way if told the story i saw and the the one the kid and his dad conjured.

I heard the bat hit the catchers helmet is all I can say. I was watching what I thought to be a home run from a kid that had been hitting the ball all night. If there is nothing in the rule book pointing to throwing a bat then the ump made a judgement call which he justified by previous warning about throwing the bat to the player whom he called out. I am not saying the call was right or wrong but it was the call he made and is over. Dodgers got the win and I know it stinks BAD that your boy does not get his name on the HR list (yet) but lets not beat up on our volunteers please. This ump takes great pride in calling a good game and for a young man he does great work. Lets research the problem and fix it the right way without bashing a teenager.

LOL...no Chris I couldn't agree more that this is just about a call made by an umpire. I know you feel the same way I do about the ump involved. Good Kid!! Now with that said I am sure this will all be okay as many calls have been the wrong call over many years of baseball. The game is how old and we still don't understand the rules. I know Greenie's boy will hit many more dingers in his at bats to come in many years to play and am sorry for him that he was called out. "can't we all just get along?"

Phew! - I wish more kids would step up. I know a least one national leaguer (as far as I'll go or I'll start a real mess) who chooses to ump at Julien for the money.

I agree.. But it's sure nice to have a place to vent and keep it away from the kids.

Yup! - We should probably go to a members only format so no one gets hurt. Plus its my forum and then I could say SH!T whenever I wanted.

So to clarify the rule for those of us trying to understand... If, in the judgement of the ump, the batter throws the bat (after being warned), he may choose to eject the kid (if he feels it's a safety issue) but the play stands once the ball is dead???
