Coop ~
Sounds like AE faced an outstanding young pitcher last night but the "lil engine that could" kept right on chugging. It would have been easy to give up but from what I heard Tyler, Blake and the AE defense did what they had to do to give themselves the opportunity to win. This is a special team. Maybe its karma that the Nor Cal champs open up against Hawaii. ;D

I was referring to the very large Hawaiian coach of the AE team and how fitting it would be to open up against Hawaii at Regions. I just threw salt over my shoulder and did three spins to ward off the bad karma of having to explain it. ;D

Just curious. Was the pitcher was able to get thru 6 innings before reaching his pitch limit? If he averaged 5 pitches per batter that would put him at 17 hitters - one shy of the 18 he'd face in 6 innings. Amazing that a kid could be dealing a perfecto and have to come out. What's the saying, "strikeouts are overrated." Definitely so when it comes to LL pitch count! lol

Hey Jeff Gomes looks like your contribution to the All Star team really paid off last night as the boys hit 4 dingers with the new bat you donated to the team. Again thanks alot Jeff and the boys really appreciate what you did for them. AE has a total of 41 homeruns since the All Star tournament started everybody on the team has contributed in some fashion whether it be offensively or defensively. Every player has had a special moment throughout the run the boys have been on. It has truly been a team effort not just one or two players caring the whole team. You never know which kid is going to step up from the number 1 spot all the way through number 9 any of them can hurt you at any time. We have had a few donations come through and to those people who do not want their names mentioned along with the ones that have been we say thank you for all your support.

Good Morning Everyone,
I realize that some of you already know most of the information what is going on but for those who do not here is what has happen. Yes, Chris this is a very special team. You can not make a mistake on any of these players. They are all very special. I just wanted to give you an update with our AE 11-12 year olds. After winning the District (beating River Park twice), they moved on to Taft (Bakersfield area - west of I-5) to win the Sections after losing their first game and coming back playing every day through the losers bracket. They are now in Alameda playing for the Division Title (6 teams) which means Northern California (Bakersfield to Oregon border). They played their first game Wednesday and won that game 1-0 in 8 innings against Briarwood from Santa Clara. They won the their second game Thursday 10-4 against Woodcreek Roseville-Sacramento. They play today (Saturday) at 1 pm against Pleasanton. They win today they will play Monday the Championship for the winners brackets the loser must take two at that time. If they were to lose today then they would play again Sunday at 1pm and then Monday and Tuesday at 5:30pm to win the Division. Should they or when they win the Division title they will go to San Bernardino for the Western Regionals where something like 11 states play with pool play before going to the World Series. For those who would like to go today here are the directions: Take 580 to the Bay Area, when you get to Castro Valley where the merge for 238 and 580 breaks off, stay in the left lane and follow 238 to 880 north. 880 will take you right by the Oakland Coliseum. Take the High Street turn off and turn left to go under 880. Stay on High Street to where it dead ends to Otis and turn right. Stay on Otis for about 2 miles and turn left on Grand Street. Grand Street dead ends the Bay. The ball field is on the left side at Will C. Wood School. Long walk to the fields. Coop
