The National/ National South Board approved the teams last night.
The National side will have 3 teams. 9/10 11 11/12
The National South will have 2 teams. 9/10 11/12

The 11/12 year old team will select first as I understood things.
Kids select the first three, managers select next six and the AS manager fills out the remainder of the squad. How does A/AE select?

and the AS manager fills out the remainder of the squad. is that new or has that been the process lately? that is a great idea, that is how we did it in Juniors ages ago when i was there. luckily that was the case or i would have been thrusted with 3 players i felt werent better than the 3 that i ended up getting. this probly also leads to less politiking in that THE Manager doesn't have to give up some deserving kid for a lesser in order to recieve something back because he will have the last 3 picks in his own hands. less opportunities for managers to collude in picking "their" own players.

I think its 15.
The real pproblem with carying too many is of course subbing. Rec ball is over and I think you have to decide on how many to carry based on positioning and not taking an AB away from your top hitters.
I know I'll take heat for suggesting we take fewer because some kids may miss out. However, I guarantee if they can help the team they will be selected by the managers selection process or the AS Manager.

Travel Ball is great this time of year with alot of tournaments going on right now. Just my opinion and it does not mean chit. Beacuase of not letting some 11's go up to play with the 12's and put the best team on the field I feel we are lowering our chances of one of Turlock's teams to advance farther than Riverpark. All that means is the Renegades will be able to start our season earlier. Good Luck to all the All Star teams but like Nascar says Gentlemen start your POLITICS oh sorry I mean your engines.
