Chris I would never question your integrity or the commitment to your kids and maybe in the earlier post I should have stated that. We all know what has went on before the year started as far as the way the A/AE handled a certain situation and now they are paying for it with the kids being laughed at because of a decision that was made by that board. You know yourself when things like this come up people always look for the best advantage for their team. If I affended you in anyway I am truly sorry not meant to be that way.

Tony -
Thanks & Ditto!!!! I'm not tied to this format exclusively. Obviously, several knowledgeable people including yourself, Greenie and even Tony Lema, whom I ran it past, feel the four division leaders should be the top four seeds.
We went with the winning percentage criterion because we felt it was the most fair. Knowing that it didn't benefit our own teams, none of us anticipated the push back we got and perhaps that was naive.
Whatever the BODs agree upon it needs to be done now so there is no more appearance of self-indulgence. Your right in that it could appear to be feather our own bed as you and others have pointed out. That isn't the case but I guess appearances are important in LL politics.
Thanks for your last post I really appreciate it.

Come on guys every sport in American history your divisions winners are seeded first then everyone else falls in place. in baseball the Wild Card could be the #2 team based on seeding BUT they still play the #1 seed because they get the #4 ranking as a wildcard participant. my take is rank the division winners first that win %age the remaining 4 teams

The winning percentage places the teams where they belong based on MERIT. With the balanced schedule that we play that is the fairest way to go. How is it a balanced schedule? We play the Padres 1 time and you play them twice and so on. I don't see how that is balanced.

You know one thing, its really not going to matter how we do the City Tourney someone will have issues of how its not fair, not going to work etc..... We still have the option of doing like years past..... 4 teams with 3 games!!!!!!

And I guess like last year the top 4 seeds or Division winners would be seeded #1

This is the way it should be is that division winner should get preference as a Number 1 seed.
If the Orioles win the American league and the Giants win the National the brackets should look like this.
Paders vs. NS Angels NS Yanks vs Red Sox Giants vs. Cubs Orioles vs. Dodgers
With the Number 1 Seeds being the home team in the first round. Any playoff system in place except for March Madness uses division winners. Look at the NBA. The Spurs had a better record than the JAZZ and the Jazz got the higher seed because they won their division.
NFL the top two divisions gets bys, and the lowest division winner gets to play the lowest Wild Card team.
MLB does the same thing. The top division winner plays the lowest wild card and so on.
That is my two cents worth, have a feasting frenzey.

I could easuly say go with the divsion winners so as to make it look like I was not trying to favor the Cubs or by stating that I think it should be winning percentage I can put myself up for criticism and have people perceive I want to do what's best for my team. The former would bes easier on myself (I don't need nor want the finger pointing)... but rather than take the easy way out I stated my opinion on what I think is best for the league in the long run. Winning percetange makes the most sense becasue all teams had equal opportunity to beat each other... rather than by luck of the draw be in an easy division.
