Shame on anyone who would threaten folks for posting their opinions on this or any other forum. What a joke. I can't stop laughing when I think about anyone taking those threats seriously or giving any credence at all to such bullying nonsense.
Then again if you allow such nonsense to go on then you deserve what you get. Bah, bahh, Bahhhhh!

well its a good thing that this board is independant and not under the control of any LL or else it might have gotten shut down by now.

Wow...Every day it's something different from the American side. Telling people if they post they will get beat up? I'm starting to see why the #'s are down. I've heard about the B.S. that goes on over there, but this takes it to a new level (or low) A few questions. 1. Is interleague worth it? I really don't want to get involved with some egotistical jerks who put their own agenda before whats best for the kids. 2. Why put up with these folks? 3. I think I'll stop before I get beat up!!!

I have schedule that meets all the goals we are looking for in all 4 leagues. . Including a city wide tourney and much more. I will be giving hard copies to Chris and Pedro this week. I'm still supportive of interleague guys. I think this is one of the best opportunities Turlock LL has had in a longggg time to turn things around. There are indeed great folks in American/American East and its a very small, small number whose behavior is questionable. I think we should continue.

As a BOD member.......I have been a supporter of interleague from the start. It's good for the kids, it's good for Turlock........We need to RAISE the BAR and make this year an example.

I still support it. I agree with you guys that this SHOULD be a great thing for our city. But it only takes a couple of bad apples to turn a great thing into a mess.

Greenie: I'll arrange a police escort for you every time Patrick has a game. You sound kind of scared Greenie, we are actually very nice people on the Am/E. Quit being such a wussy.

I'm shaking in my boots. Just what I need is Barney Fife escorting us.
The only thing that scares me around here would be at the dinner table with crapper and Mathew. You could lose an arm.

I'm sure that every league across the country has it's share of problems - such is life. I think everyone will find the vast majority of folks associated with A/AE are good folk. I hope no one comes into this with negative vibes about us. Trust me, if it were that bad my kids would do travel ball full time and bypass LL - but I believe in what it's about so that's why Brett continues to play.
Interleague, the City Tournament of Champions (or whatever we dicide to call it), is all worth it and will be worth whatever speed bumps we hit along the way. Stay the course and it will pay huge dividends for all involved. This is a good move not only for the here and now but years down the road. I think interleague is something that needs to be done on a long term basis to foster relationships among youth and adults alike from both "sides" of town.

Craig ~
No doubt every league has its problems. Openness and transparency benefits the league and it membership. No decision that effects the league should be made in private and exclude the membership. Agendas should be made in advance and posted to allow interested parties their input. Obviously, personnel, disciplinary and requests for trades need to be done in private.
Open discussion allows those participating and those observing to see the process in action. Too often these kind of decisions are done deals even before the meeting is held.
I wasn't happy with the manner in which National/National South closed the meeting to discuss whether or not the Braves should have been dissolved. BOD members were told to recuse themselves because they were NS managers/coaches and there was a perceived conflict.
Recusal can never be thrust upon a member (with the exception of financial dealings or some disciplinary issues) because they are elected to represent their particular leagues. The members must determine for themselves whether they are going to recuse themselves.
I would suggest that if you require NS members to recuse themselves then National members should do the same to remove any conflicts related to competition. See its all silly. Consequently, hard feelings and conspiracy theories run a muck.
Open meetings with an appropriate time set for discussion will resolve a lot of the problems we see arise in both leagues.
