MAybe I'm all wet here but I thought in the minors you can't steal Home ? Or maybe that was just a gentelmans agreement ? Stealing home is allowed in AAA. But what happened was that our pitcher came off the mound to get the throw from the catcher; when the pitcher turned around to go back to the mound, the coach sent his player on third home.

I've seen that play used in LL for twenty (well thirty) years. Its usually a last ditch effort to tie the game or for a go ahead run. Hell, we were beat by the same play twice the year before last when the D'Backs used it to beat us. However, this is the first time I have heard of a coach using it to run up the score. Shame on him!

The Lynx play Thursday at 5:30 for those of you who would like to see how not to coach.

I watched 2 games last night and witnessed some piss poor sportsmanship. I guess winning is more important than setting an example to the kids.

I agree! What's up with the kid who got tag out on first and then stomped on it? ( Nat./giants) I would have my son yanked in a heart beat! Sandra

Baseballmom -
Sometimes a little understanding helps frame your perspective a lot. You may not be as aware of things as you think.

baseball mom- I believe you're talking about the play where the kid ran to 1st and the base came up out of the dirt. He then jumped on the base after he was out to push it back down in the ground. That kid does NOT have an attitude problem, nor bad sportsmanship.

In a departure from the intent of the thread and at the risk of sounding obsequious, it was cool to see the kids from the Nationals take their cuts against ZO last night.
All of them went up, stayed in there and took some great cuts. The new kid they pulled up got a nice single on a curve ZO hung. What a gutsy group of youngsters. Congrats to the Nats.

LOL - I didn't know she was a Nats mom. However, in this instance she knows not what she speaks.
I understand some are a little sensitive over there but some mother jumped Jens yesterday. Apparently, he was talking to his team mate saying "Dude, this is the kid I ripped one off of before." [and probably more]. One of the parents jumped him for it. I know they've had a rough season. Nevertheless, they do have a few parents who need to back off and lighten up.

Probably the same parent who kicked Jens out when he was announcing the game.
