Thanks Guys.. I have some big shoes to fill and can't wait to get to work. I was disappointed in the turnout at the board meeting last night. We talk about competing with areas like RP but yet we only have a few people show up to select the new board. If we are ever going to take this league to the next level we need to figure out how to get everyone involved.

AW! the ever-ending dilemna getting people involved. I hope that the new board takes up all of the issues that are out there.
A new field, inter-league with Turlock American and American East, fall ball, increase the number of players, general rules for AA so there is a general consensus of play and all of the other issues that are surrounding the league.
Good Luck to the Board and lets have a great 2007.

Thanks Everyone. I really thought long and hard over where my time would be best used for the league. There is much work to be done and ground to be laid my hope is that we can continue active work during these months. I am hopeful that the BOD will meet regularly these next 3 months to address: 1) interleague play 2) promotion & recruitment 3) field improvements 4) fall ball or fall clinic (I favor the latter because so many of our players just our not getting the instruction and so many of our new coaches can use mentoring; we have great knowledge in our league let's use it) 5) Final BOD make up

I know that interleague will be one of the main topics on the American side for next year. Our current president has already mentioned that he would like to pursue it.

Hey should I feel dissed since I didn't get a congrats from mccleanhatch? It is all good. But I am serious about finding people who want to learn about the Player Agent position. It is necessary to have a couple years of training in order to do justice to that position.
With a good strong PA, you know that you don't have to worry about problems with age, boundaries and things like that at AS or at any time. It impacts so much, for instance one of players who was injured. He had had medical bills at over 15,000.00 for getting hit in the face. He did not have much injury but with a MRI, and an ambulance ride it has climbed up there. This players family does not have insurance either. If this player was accidentally playing out of league, he would not of been covered by insurance. And you know that damn insurance is going to do anything it can to get out of paying. This is another case of making sure that your t's are crossed and I's dotted so our players are not hurt by the dumb paperwork.

Parents often wonder why we (Little League in general, local boards included) are so anal (can I use that word here???) about "the rules." This is a perfect example why. I guess in the end it's for the protection of our players and their families.
