Kevin was one of only 72 players from the 144 teams participating in AZ & FLA to try out for the Team USA 16U team. Well deserved! Tryouts will be held at Fullerton in the weeks ahead. The Team will compete in the World Championships in Taiwan in early August.

craig....i think you got the numbers wrong.................if i am not mistaken and if i am reading this correctly they only take 36 players TOTAL......18 from the AZ and 18 from the FL tourny......at least that is what it was in years past mlb.mlb.com/usa_baseball/16u_info.jspThe 2008 USA Baseball 16U National Team will be selected exclusively from the pool of more than 2,400 participants in the USA Baseball 16U Championships. Trials candidates (36 total between both the East and West tournaments) for the 2008 16U National Team will be announced on June 27. Those players will participate in the 16U National Team Trials at a to-be-determined location later in the summer. The final 18-man team will be selected from these trials to compete in the 2008 COPABE 'AA' Youth Pan American Championships, also at a to-be-determined location later in the summer. Congratulations to Kevin- What an honor to be chosen for the trials. We have been in Georgia for the last couple of weeks...Does anyone know if the Turlock Journal has picked up the story about Kevin?

He played with Cencal in June and then went with ABD Bulldogs Red to Georgia. The team made it to the semifinals in the 18u but then the next week they won the 17U-it was exciting. Vince pitched well down there-had 3 wins and a save in the two weeks. He will continue to play with ABD through the fall.
