85 teams! We finally got Mark to come play with his 18u team in Turlock. We have 6 teams from Washington and 3 from Southern California.
We have 8 year olds all the way up to 18 year olds. Pedretti, CSU-Stanislaus, Ceres Costa Fields, and Big League Dreams Manteca. It will be a great baseball weekend.

Randy, It would have been fun to play local. So what if the kids miss a couple of days of school . I'm just happy we're playing. Watching Lil. G smiling ear to ear the entire practice was nice to see. The smack talk and the way the Renegades hustle during practice shows of a close knit bunch of boys that will have a lot of fun this summer.

Greenie: well here is the deal greenie, because i will be missing that many "top pitchers" and because of the fact that "pool play" doesnt really matter because ALL teams advance to playoffs that mean i will be holding back my other 3 best pitchers (andy stueve, willie galdamez, and bradin hagens) and not pitch them during pool play. i will be missing my best shortstop (austin keaton) from sunday onward due to vacation and will also be missing my backup catcher due to vacation also! tell me that isnt enought to be nervous about!! i believe we will still do good especially on Monday and Tuesday. Crash: CSU Stanislaus 8:00 and 1015 AM on Saturday, Pedretti at 430 pm on sunday, then back at CSUS on Monday

good tourney thus far.
2 scout representing the SF Giants and the Chicago White Sox were in attendance.
Pool Play Saturday: Game 1: Warriors win against Prairy View, Washington 7-3. Pitchers were Turlock High's Jeremy Hibbs (3 innings) and Hilmars Tajz Wells (3 innings) closer was Central Catholics Andy Stueve
Game 2: Warriors lose against West Lane Mets 3-4, all 4 were UNearned. Pitcher was Bradin Hagens of Pitman who went the distance (6 innings), the pitcher for West Lane (Caleb Hurst) was drafted by the Chicago WhiteSox and was in the High 80s to low 90's. i have seen him clocked as high as 93 this summer on 2 occasions).
Sunday: ame 3: Warriors win against Long Beach Breakers 7-1. Pitchers were Dom Hernandez of Los Banos (2 innings), Willie Galdamez (2 innings) and Sergio Perez (1 inning) both of Turlock, closer was Vinnie LaMattina of Golden Valley
Elimination Games Monday: Game 4: Warriors beat Long Beach Breakers again. Warriors were #3 seed with a 2-1 pool play record and face the LB Breakers who came in at 1-2 and a #6 seed. Warriors pitched Andy Stueve of Central Catholic who went the distance (7 innings) in 80 pitches.

i am guessing that Cal Blaze would take it. IMO they were the best team out there.
the WL Mets had 2 D1 pitchers (Centennial in Lousiana, and Long Beach State) also a drafted pitcher Caleb Hurst (Beyer HS) by the Chicago White Sox. they also had a future D1 LHP pitcher in M. Aguas of Bear Creek in Stockton. and the coach was a former D1 Manager (Quincy Noble of UOP)
they played in the semis and were knotted at 2-2 when i left, but both teams are better IMO than the Paso Robles team that beat us.

Mark We came out and watched you guys yesterday and what a difference it is at that level. I can't wait to see the team fully loaded. I'd also like to give some props to the Met's. They took my Ryan under their wings and he had a great time goofing around with them.

thatnkz for coming out.
we looked like shit yesterday! couldnt you have picked a beter game? j/k lol
ya, we pretty much scored enough to win it took us a minute to figure out that side arm lefty who was throwing low 80's with plus movement, but we did eventually get to him 6 runs thats usually enough to win (in fact i cant remember us ever losing a game in which we score at least 5 runs) but our pitching was bad. believe it or not those 2 guys i pitched were my slowest pitchers.
the starter that gave up 10 runs, 7 earned. last year he gave up 5 earned ALL YEAR, and the year before that he gave up 5 earned ALL YEAR, so he almost match his earned runs allowed from the last 2 years combined in 1 game!
the funny part is that the 2nd pitcher that was supposed to come in was in the restroom taking a dump (must have been constipated or something) when i needed him to get loose. so i had no1 to get loose when they got those 6 runs on the grand slam! oh well.
lol, i was down to my 4th catcher. my starting catcher had to work until 2:00 #;s 2 and 3 are on vacation. i have been told by pro scouts that my #1 catcher is the best defensive catcher in this area and that its not even close to the next guy
my shortstop was on vacation, so my brother was playing shortstop, and a local kid who i put on roster just in case had to come in and help us out by playing 2nd base.
it was frustrating a bit, but we did well considering all the people that were missing.
