I know it's a pipe dream to make to the World Series but look how close Tracy came last year... in 2002 Turlock National LOST to Aptos in the Divisionals Championship Game by 1 run to represent Northern California @ the San Bernardino Western Regionals, so Aptos Advanced to San Bernardino and went 6-0 and 10 Runned EVERY1 there to go to Williamsport. Whatever happened to the Championship Banners that were flying in Centerfield anyway 2002 District 10 Champions 2002 Section 6 ChampionsYes, 2 teams can get filled. NO, 2 Competitive teams cant be filled. one teams will be left strong and the other will be left weak

When the 12 year old team is made up primarily of 11 year old players then it becomes an 11 year old team by default. Consequently, it would make much more sense to keep the 11s playing with their same age peers.
Let these kids remain together and perhaps next year as 12s they will go a lot farther.

Then why not keep the 11's together in the NS.

Because there are only (10) 11's in the entire NS. You can't eliminate the 11/12 team or the 9/10 team. If you choose to go with 3 teams, every kid in NS is an all star and that really wouldn't make sense.

Chris The coaches pick a few from your own team. We have played football the last 2 years(pee-wee's) and the first year the best players made it from our team. Last year the coaches picked only 10's and we had 9's that played both ways and were much better then half the 10's that made it. The reason the coach gave was it's the 10's last year and the 9's have another year to make it. Makes alot of sense huh?

Nah - not much sense Jim. I have seen so many different methods for selecting all stars and none of them seem to work all that well. Last year the kids picked six and managers picked six and that didn't work very well. This year we have the kids picking 3, the managers 6 and the remainder being selected by the All Star manager. Don't really know if that will work better but I guess we'll see in a few weeks.
Good luck against the Dodgers tonight. Tell Patrick to keep that stroke going!

Consequently, it would make much more sense to keep the 11s playing with their same age peers. if it is widely recognized by most that the Majority of the players and/or the IMPACT players on the 12U team will be 11's, then it would make sense to keep them on the 11 YO team. simply because as good as they might be, they WONT be able to hang with a really good team comprised of 12 YO Kids

so right now approximatly 60% of all players in National will make All Star and 67% of all players in National South will make All Stars.
dont know about you guys but to me there is something wrong with that picture!
i remember back in the days when both leagues had only 40% of the kids making All Stars, and i still thought that was too high!

I made that point the other night at the meeting Mark...You're correct. Arguably 8 of the top ten players are 11 and the two best players on the National side are 11. Having a team of primarily of 11s playing teams comprised of mostly 12 year olds makes no sense to me.

at the All Star selection meetings/votings that i attended there was only 6 or 7 players that i thought were true all stars, but we had to fill the team

So once again you will have N/S playing with a majority of 11's on a 12 yr all star team. IS THAT COMPRISING? Talking last night at the park we might have 4 12's that make the all stars and the rest 11's. That was just off the top of our heads so the numbers might be a little different but not by much. A little different question How many players are we going to carry on each team? I feel 13 is way too many.
Chris back to yur question about football The JV viking all the coaches select 10 players on their on ballot, then we counted who got the most votes and thats who makes it. It is also weighted on how your team does in the regular season. 1st place gete 10 players 2nd place get 8 players on so on down the line. It just depends on your team.
