I ran a quick run of an 8 bracket this morning. I must say taking the top two teams from each division and ordering them by record for seeding purposes it is pretty impressive.
About the only low is no matter how you slice it two AE teams will get a bit of the shaft given that they are playing in such a competitive division.
By my count teams in the tourney would be composed of the following teams in a guess at seeding if the season was done. And this would be without the CUBS and AE ANGELS two very competitive teams.
1) AE Padres 2) NS Yankees 3) AE Yankees 4) A Orioles 5) N Giants 6) N Dodgers 7) A Red Sox 8) NS Angels
What is very cool about the tourney approaching us is how competitive this line up is. The boards should really look at promoting this tourney BIG TIME locally. Can serve as a momentum builder for future recruitment.
Strategy will be key. But, great job to all who brought inter-league and the new tourney format to Turlock

Rocko No wonder the J.C. system is so screwed up. The Giants are the 3 seed. The second place team doesn't get a higher seed than a division winner. DUH

Greenie, Just like a trucker...asleep at the wheel. ;D ;D My posting referred to rankings as of today. Today, Giants are 1/2 a game in front i.e., if season was already done. Now we all no when all is said and done MIB will take their spot at "numero dos." As it should be. But, rankings are based on records today. By the way....how will the rankings be determine. I would imagine despite winning your division if a second place team from another division has a better record they should receive the higher seed. Am I correct on this? Seems to me teams should be rewarded for performance in season. Hope the above is clear enough for Mr. Verde.

Well, that screws up my line up. However, I still like my approach better. Better record = higher seed. However, just for quicks below is the redone list 1) AE Padres 2) NS Yankees 3) N Giants 4) AM Orioles 5) AE Yankees 6) N Dodgers 7) AM Redsox 8) NS Angels AE PadresNS Angels NS YankeesAM Redsox N GiantsN Dodgers AM OriolesAE Yankees

I vote yes to the double header. But we know how the vote will be. Those with more than 2 pitchers will say yes ,less say no.

The double header is a huge disadvantage to any team coming up through the losers bracket. Have you guys really thought this through.

Shouldn't there be an advantage for going through the winners bracket? I didn't think it was an advantage either way actually. I would rather play the top team again right after their first loss.
