2002 had a about 10 players galdamez, keaton, palomino, palacio, clapper, serpa, perez, scott, ect....(deepest and most talented in last 5 years) ^^ all 8 from 2002 above play for the Turlock Warriors which was THE BEST player out of TNLL and TNSLL i have seen (but then again i wasnt around in the days of Steve Soderstom and Dan Reichert either)

It's weird how things work out. Randy Johnson was a year behind me at Livermore. He was a decent pitcher in HS but wild as hell. We thought he might make it as a baskeball player but he was kind of a puss under the rim. He must have gotten some great coaching after high school becuase he blossened into one of baseball all-time greats. I think the search for quality coaching drives kids to travel ball because there aren't very many quality coaches (myself included) in the Little League program. In National & American combined there are less than 5 or so guys that are capable of teaching advanced baseball skills and theory. I'm not saying the other caoches aren't well meaning they just aren't going to bring talent along. I've heard you're one of those 5 that can Mc.

That's a pretty good list - OK 6 then - I'd add Craig Cumberland to that list too.

[glow=red,2,300]It's not about what you do in Little League... it is about what you take from it to the next level's. I have know many player's as well Chris who didn't blossom until after high school ball. They are the one's who still have an arm left after not pitching every chance they could in little league. Many young arms have been ruined for foolish decissions from coach's. I have seen many coach's pitch there ace 6 innings and then turn around and have him catch the next game. That is like pitching every inning of every game. [/glow]

"Is it possible to remove politics from the All Star selection process? What are your ideas? "
From the all star selection or LL all together ?? both go hand in hand "POLITICS" that is.........
Most of us have experienced/ witnessed the unfair selection of players in the All Stars. Not sure if this years selection process helped or not ?? But I believe that we adults must strive for fairness as these young players need to know that we are 100 % behind their efforts

But I'm thinking of just a few standouts on the AE side alone you have DSJ-Yankees Kody Brackett-Padres Austin Bush-Angels Jordon Gonzales-Padres Just to name a few and then from the N/NS you have Nick, ZO etc.....for me all these kids will excell in years to come and then you have those sleeper kids that will define the ranks to come JMO But we are loaded with standouts

The standout in Little League often becomes the washout in high school... girls, cars, partying, waning interest in a sport he's played since he was four, failure to carry a 2.0, injury, and probably the biggest reason; an early growth spurt enabled him to dominate at the Little League level, can all be reasons why. Meanwhile the kid who struggled in LL has been working hard, stayed focused, and hit his own growth spurt or his coordination finally matches his desire... so now his star rises. To try to speculate which players will make the high school teams(s) based on their Little League accomplishments is nothing more than entertaining chit chat - with emphasis on the chit. lol
That being said, it will be fun to watch the players that went thru the program together make their way thru high school. While I'm not familiar with the players before my oldest son (Little League Class of '06) began playing, I do think they have quite a bit of talent in that age group. If it were like the "old" days and Turlock only had one high school, I think the varsity team of 2011 would rival the talent level of the '02 THS team.
