I agree with Mark. I think the solution is to get rid of LL and start a Cal Ripken charter. LL seems to make decisions and rule changes without seeking the opinions of people that have a clue. We have people in Williamsport that don't know the difference between baseball or Boy Scouts. I do have alot of faith and respect for the local board members on both sides this year but they will have their hands tied when it comes to LL international forcing rule changes. i honestly think that the people in williamsport are thinking more and more about their TV deals and the revenue generated and every once in a while passing new attention grabbing rules without thinking them through and how they "can" negatively affect LL at the local level. they "LL Int" are a few years IMO behind the curve. they wont feel the hits of canceled charters, near failing charters and such until 4 or 5 years down the road from where they sit high atop of the hill. but i think the signs are all there. how many American Teams have won the LL World Series in the last 10 years? ??

Scrapper: your better than that......btw-I got a set of jumper cables, I just have to learn which is positive and which is negative.
Mel: I see the rule changes every year and it just seems that they are going backwards. I stand by my opinion but that's all it is.

Give Chaney a break. He's been frazzled ever since he had to start working for a living... Life was a lot funnier when he was livin' on our dime

Cal Ripken just changed their rules for 12 and unders. They will now pitch form 50 ft and have 70 feet base paths. Every program has rules. Some I like and some I don't and some I don't have any opinion.
Mark, I was being political. I didn't want a motion passed that was going to be punitive to the players or managers. If we were going to pass a motion about the curve ball, then I wanted a "advisory" one or want ever Ralph called it. I also felt it was a non thing, but so did the majority of the board. And is it a bad thing to tell our mangers not to have the kids throw curves, from what I understand most if not all of the mangers already don't. I have it on good authority that Craig Cumberland, Steve Soderstrom, Chris Essary and the managers that I have watched in the last few seasons, don't do it anyway. So what is the big diff. There is no punishment, no one to police it. just a statement that we do not want you to teach it or order it thrown. It is better to have a advisory motion then a motion that is going to lead to punitive problems done the road when it can not be enforced.
