Randy, Are we staying with the wild card play-off format? I hope so. The last two seasons it's kept teams in the hunt all the way up to the final weekend.

We take the first half-winner, second half winner and the wild card... Which is the team with the next best over-all record. This keeps players interested and coming to practice Also when the 1st half/2nd half only format was used there was a time or two when the team that actually had the best over-all league record didn't make play-offs! This insures that that doesn't happen. The first year we did this (2 years ago) all five teams had the chance to make play-offs going into the last week. This year 4 of the 5 teams were in it up until the last weekend. It keeps it fun. Like any play-off format there's pros & cons... but this seems to have more advantages than the other.

NAT?NS does that too.
i dont know why they put so much emphasis on the full schedule over that of the games within their own league to determine who the champion will be

That sounds pretty cool. Your right, plus it add some excitement at the end of the year. National should do this. I do not think that we do this now.

Nat/NS has some what of a different format.
1st half winner is guaranteed a play-off spot. Win the 2nd half and you are League Champs ( no play-off ) If you do not win out in the 2nd half a play off between 1st & 2nd half to determine overall winner. Then on to the Nat/NS playoff to determine who will play TOC's and City Championship.
Last year for the Yankees. We had 3 play-off games. We won 1st half, Play Off w/the Angels for 2nd half winner. Lost that game, Played Angels to determine overall winner,( 1st half vs 2nd half ) WON - on to play Cardinals for Nat/NS League winner..........Won on to TOC, City Championship

One aspect that is really fun is... When you have a few teams within a game of each other here comes a team that has no chance to make the play offs but can put the spoils on another. I believe it keeps all the teams going either to win it or spoil it

Byrd: you guys ran into a streak, plus you had to long a layoff between games.

No matter how the league's decide their format somebody will complain (more than likely it will be Craig). By keeping mediocre teams in the hunt late in the season it does create excitement for the league. But you also must take into consideration inter-league and the pitch count rule that will be new to the american side. The edge should go to the national side because it may take a few coaches 10+ games to get used to it. I personally love the idea for two reason's, 1st it will expose the coach that thinks he is a genious and 2nd it will at least limit the amount of "daddyball"........if junior can't throw strikes then he will be forced to throw someone else's kid. Basically no matter what format is used there will be winner's and loser's. The loser will say how the format stinks and the winner will say it works. I also agree that just because a team has no shot at winning their league that they shouldn't play the spoiler role. Last year the Dodgers on the american side won one game, you should have seen their excitement. It was like they won the city championship.
Rodney: Chris said the Giants will win it all this year, at least you guys had a good year last year.LOL

That's right, the Giants in 07. We will be a scrappy team with two and one-half horses and a bunch of guys with unlimited potential carrying us to the City Championship. We're going to be dangerous.

Scrapper: if you guys are banking on potential than it might be a long year.LOL I am pulling for you guys because Chris is a good guy and it would be great to see Jens and ZO go out winners, besides that I can't seem to pull for anybody wearing Dodger or Yankee uniforms......sorry to Rodney, Joe and GreenHorn.
Crash: blah blah blah......lets see results and answers to the problems not your crack-pot theories and b.s.
Kenny: If you really want to know where to get the I.D. Nike's cheap.......check up Craig's @$$. A few of his player's put their foot up there last year.LOL
News flash: for those who care or don't already know, Phil Salazar is coming out of his 6 month retirement to coach the Angels for the 53rd year in a row. I'm seeing a bronzed statue of "Phyllis" in front of Julien this year. All kidding aside, it's good to see Phil back. I would hate to see Cumberland run away with the east because of sub-par coaching. Crash might have to actually pull a trick or two out of the bag.

MY BIGGEST THING IS THAT LEAGUE RECORD IS WHAT SHOULD DETERMINE LEAGUE STANDING AND NOT INTERLEAGUE GAMES.
