I noticed in the paper today that AM/AE have raised their fees to $90.00. I think thats a good move & wish NAT/NS would do the same.

Man, I hope we don't raise it to 90.00. That is almost a 20 percent increase. You will have to make payments to play in the league. If you have two kids in that is almost 200 bucks and for that kind of money, you better be upgrading uniforms, facilities and all the other stuff.

It not high when compared to other Little leagues. We spend a lot of money fund raising and a lot of folks just skate. Bewteen practice and games, I would bet we kids get close to 200 hours of activities. That equates to about 45 cents an hour. We also throw in free uniforms, pictures and a chance to bring home a trophy. I think at twice the price its a good deal.

I am almost certain we voted to keep the fees the same earlier this year. However, perhaps another member can confirm this. I can not find my minutes.

does any1 have a ballpark number as to how much National and National South spend on League Fees and AS Fees and TOC Fees, pretty much any and all fees paid to LL International or D10? is it near 5000K just an idea but would that money be better served being spend after a relular independant season by paying for tournament entry fees to other Local League All Star Tournaments like Bel Passi AS Tourny, Ceres AS Tourny, Newman AS Tourny, Salida AS Tourny, Waterford AS Tourney, Empire AS Tourny??? the entree fees to these tournys are usually 200 to 250 bucks. plus each league can run their own tourny to raise more funds for their AS teams and their Regular season teams

Its North of that amount for everything Mark. Everything revolves around the AS tourney. We start in early March just to accomodate the LL Tourney. I think that has hurt the leagues more than anything else. Hell the season over just as the kids get out of school. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
We probably have $50,000-70,000 in deferred maintenance at Soderquist. While National has a nice surplus it would definately be easy to spend whats in surplus just to make some much needed improvements.

$90 bucks for 24 games in about the best bargain around. That's $3.75 a game. Hell, you can't even go to the cages for that! Throw in lord knows how many practices and the bargain only gets better. If your kid makes all stars (and about half do) the deal gets even sweeter. If the team makes the TOC and City Championship - yowsa. Compared to most other organized youth activities Little League is CHEAP!

I did a quick survey of the leagues in California and here's what I came up with from data available on-line: - Lucky Waller LL (San Diego) $75-95
- 4S LL (San Diego) $135
- Airport (Sacto) $65-75
- Alameda LL (Alameda) $110-125
- Allied Gardens $100-125
- Alum Rock LL $80
- Antiock LL $175
- Arcadia LL $159
- Atascadero LL $65-85
- Belmont LL $125
- Bonsall Falls LL $80
- Branham Hills LL $125-200
- Briarwood LL $100-125
- Buena Park LL $75-85
I just went through the "As" and some of the "Bs" and its not hard to see the leagues are serioiusly under charging for all their efforts.

but what i was wonderin is out of the 90 bucks, how much of that does the league dish out to LL International and to D10.
could Turlock create something like "Turlock Youth Baseball" and use the extra money that the 4 leagues pay out in fees for better purposes?

$90 is a good price for league. It is not too much. I would lean toward it being not enough.
That is $1,080 per team based on 12 player roster.
20 games @ $30 for umpires divide 2 teams = $300 to umpires 2 dozen game balls per team per season @ $25 = $50 12 uniforms @ $25 = $300
That's already -$650 .......and there are tons more bills....
Heck, we pay $50 a kid for 3 game gaurentee to play a normal tournament!
How can anyone complain about $90 for 20 games.

Oh I bet the money could be much better spent but I think LL is so entrenched here that no one is likely to change. I also think money raised under the LL moniker couldn't be spent on the development of another league.
That having been said, I think the boards are doing good job with the money they have. We've both been board members and I think TNLL has always been good stewards of the money. They have healthy reserves right now but that's how it should be. I'd like to see a years operating expenses in the bank (I think they are getting close) and then have the league focus on all the capital improvements we need to make.

I knew you'd understand the numbers Lance. $90 is a great deal. BTW - Good luck this weekend in Manteca. You earned the opportunity to be the first!

Ok guy’s lets do a Turlock price review and I may be off a few bucks but it should be close and this is only regular season for all sports.
Turlock Little league-21 games x 2hrs = 42 hrs of fun for 90.00 or 4.28 per game includes team photo. Turlock Youth Football-11 games x 2hrs = 22 hrs of fun for 110.00 or 10.00 per game with travel no team photo Turlock Youth Soccer-11 games x 2hrs = 22 hrs of fun for 100.00 or 9.09 per game no team photo-Not sure about the price on this on its been a while?
And both Football and Soccer has no upkeep on the fields we do
JMO Little league is the best bargain in town
