I thought that is what you did at Denair High School......I know, you call it a yearbook but it's really a scrapbook. BTW- the community doesn't have the money to put up, so the Turf Crew has found the alternative to a sh!t economy.

Still pissing a lot of money away to benefit fewer kids than practicable. I'd love to see the fields improved as well but not with RDA money. The safety argument is specious as more injuries occur on turf than grass.
There was a time when people looked beyond their own self-interest. I'd rather see the money go to provide for the homeless or fund facilities for after-school programs. Maybe folks so willing to spend redevelopment funds should read up on how the funds are suppose to be spent rather than drinking the Koolade.

RDA money has been used on many other venues in various communities and unfortunately has had very little success. So why not utulize it for the stadium. A refurbished stadium could generate revenue where as another program would never pay for itself and continue to drain the community.

How long would it take the stadium to earn a $3,000,000 return on investment from new activities? Answer: Forever

It's still quicker than the R.O.I. for a homeless shelter. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to other programs but most of which have been mentioned where failures. Maybe the problem is with the tree-huggers that are running these programs....they don't have the business sense to keep them afloat.
On to selling alcohol at Pedretti.....you and I might be able to handle drinking a few beers without making an azz out of ourselves but there are some real dirtbags that cannot. You may be willing to pay $6 for a 12oz. beer, the dirtbags will just smuggle it in and cause problems.
If it's left up to the shot-callers of Turlock, we will have another dozen churches and mexican restuarants.

LOL - on the churches and mexican food...They sell beer at Field of Dreams and Twin Creeks. Hell, I played in a Catholic baseball League in the 70's and we sold beer in the snack shack. I defer to you though on handling rowdy drunks as anyone in your profession is no doubt an expert.

How long would it take the stadium to earn a $3,000,000 return on investment from new activities? Answer: Forever I'm going to sound like a complete ASS...but whats new and I'm sure more than just myself feel this way... I know for a fact that youth footabll,HS football and all the other events bring in monies for the schools and orginzations they represent..so to say that it would never pay for itself your right, but at least they are using the money for the youth and hopefully we will not have to support homelss shelters, drug rehabe shelters etc....I would rather spend my TAX DOLLAR on our kids today and tomorrows youth..JMO

If more money were spent on youth programs & education perhaps less would need to be spent on homeless shelters & prisons...
