Interesting year when your son becomes a freshman. There was stress over whether or not he'd make the team and then would he get an opportunity to play.
After having pitched very sporadically all year Jens got the start for the Pitman-Turlock game and pitched a gem. The season culminated with him getting the "Get Some" award from Coach Moreno. Its not MVP (Steven Kha) or Defensive Player of the Year (Adam Nascimento) or Offensive Player of the Year (Alex Ibarra) but its an award for tenacity, scrappiness under pressure and a no-quit attitude. I was very proud.
I know you can relate Crash after Ryan's performance on Pitman's home field.

It's been fun to watch Jens' development and the steep upward curve he's taken this last year. His extra work has paid off and I know he'll be a big contributor this year. He should be very proud.

Chris..... I understand completely-Next week begin Nicks first TRY-OUT for a HS Team ( Frosh Basketball ) It will be exciting and at the same time stressful waiting for the final team to be announced.
Baseball is clearly his passion-but I know the rest will do him good, we have had a very good season of Baseball, good learning & development, playing with and making new friends on the Diamond-----I'll have to HIDE the bat bag from him during Winter-, HS Baseball will be right around the corner- it's what he has dreamed of since Little League- We'll soon see the results of the work all these kids have put in - Feb 10 if I have my date correct ?---I know I'll be pacing the week of try outs..............
Have a good weekend all !!

I have two great memories and one wasn't even my kid. The first one is when the little scrapper had the game winning hit against the Red Sox in the bottom of sixth. The second one is when Cady Riley had a bases loaded game winning double against American in All-Stars and her family from out of state had never seen her play baseball.
Mr. V, Nick shouldn't have any problems with that CYO background. Michael is trying out for the seventh grade team. He made the first cut. Gotta luv the roundball.
