Matt Cain??? You been smokin' the crack you've confiscated? The Giants may give the '62 Mets record a run for their money...

I could have said Johan Santana to be safe or Clayton Kershaw to gamble but Matt Cain is my pick. Unlike you, I look at the here and now......not the past. Who would you have chose? Nolan Ryan? I don't even like the Giants but Cain has taken several no-hitters deep into games, it's only a matter of time until he puts it all together. I like Randy Johnson's replacement for next year.....Madison Baumgardner 2010 ROY.

my out there picks were for Florida to win the NL East, Jon Lester to win the AL CYA, and for the Dodgers to win the WS

Who would you have chose? Nolan Ryan?. Give him some spikes and he still has a better chance at the Cy Young - even at age 62!

You got me again Craig, I thought you meant for this year, not for all time. Since we are going all time I will go with Walter Johnson.
Back to high school.......Jim Flood just told me that Oregon St. is sending information packets to Ryan to fill out and send back. I guess the "Beaver philosophy" is the same as the "Ranger philosophy". It's possible Craig will have 7-10 Ranger alumni playing D1 college baseball in the next 3-6 years. He will someday rival Manny Upton and his ability to develope talent. Cuddyer, Reynolds, D. Wright and both Upton's on a 13U travel team.
