Just my opinion they should use the same as tournaments, Teams with the best overall records and then if there is a tie head to head. If they do not play each other a coin toss. That way everything is on the up and up. The number 1 & 2 seed get first round bye and then 3 seed vs 6 seed in game 1. Then 4 seed vs 5 seed in game 2. The second round 1 seed vs winner between 4 and 5 seed and 2 seed would get the winner between 3 and 6 seed. Third round would be the Championship round where the 2 winners of round 2 face off for the City Championship.

OK sorry that makes it easier. 1 seed vs 8 seed game #1, 2 seed vs 7 seed game # 2, 3 seed vs 6 seed game # 3, 4 seed vs 5 seed game # 4 that would be the first round. In the 2nd round winner of game # 1 vs winner game # 4 that would be game number #5, Winner of game # 3 vs Winner of game #4 that would be game # 6. City Championship would be the winner of game 5 vs winner of game 6. I guess this is better Chris what do you think. Seedings would go by overall record if there is a tie the go to head to head, if the 2 teams did not play each other then I would do a coin toss to decide higher seed. If you guys would like my help to run this tournament for you guys let me know. I think it is going to be a very exciting tournament with alot of good baseball being played.

I thought it was going to be double elimination?

It is double elimination and the other problem with over all record for seeding, the N/NS play 20 games while the A/AE play 21. JMO take the for example the AE side say the Padres win it in there division and say the Cubs take second the 1st round would be PAdres vs Cubs and then run the brackets just like in All Stars.

Well - Overall record would have been great but . . .
Unfortunately, the N/NS teams plays every team in N/NS twice and every team in A/AE once for a total of 22 games.
A/AE opted to play all non league teams 1 time and all teams in their own league 3 times for a total of 21 games.

To eliminate league teams playing league teams (example Nat vs Nat) in the first round you could have the # 1 seed in each league play an opposing # 4 seed and he 2s play the 3s from other leagues.

I'd like to eliminate all doubt and if 2 AE teams or 2 Nat teams end up in the finals I think thats great.

Randy,
I count a total of possible 15 games if the loser knocks off the winner in the championship forcing the 15th game.
How many games a day? Are we using both fields? Are we playing season rules? How many days do we want the tournament to last?
With double elimination, knowingly that the A/AE are suppost to be the host for the City Championship this year, what if two N/NS teams work into the championship? Should they or should they not play on their own field? I know that the concession's could have a toll on the decision. Or do we want to just rotate each year has we have been doing?

I meant it might be nice if two teams from the same league don't play each other in the first round. That being said I think 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5 would be best, no matter what league they are from...

Randy,
Second note. As Craig mention oppsite rankings. Just some thoughts. Place #1 seed in brackets 1/2 and #2 seed in brackets 3/4 and balance out the rest. Then there two ways to place the loser's brackets with the loser's of the second round in the winner's bracket.
It may sound confussing over the internet, but once on paper it is easier to see. As we talked before Randy if you need so help let me know.
