FYI Lil Murph and the Nor Cal Grizzlies won the 2007 Northern California State Championships this weekend at Twin Creeks in Sunnyvale. The Grizzlies went 5-0 in winning the tournament. The first game of the day was the hardest as they would go 7 innings in beating the SV Bulldogs 7-6. The 2nd game would be a short one as they would defeat the HeadFirst Gamers 14-1. The 3rd game would be a 8-0 defeat of the East Bay Hackers. The 4th game of pool play was the match up everybody was waiting on as the Grizzlies would defeat the BackYard Boyz 10-5. Grizzlies finished number 1 seed and would go straight to the championship. They would face the winner between the number 2 seed California Sting and number 3 seeded BackYard Boyz. The Sting would win that game of 9-3. The championship game would be a shortened affair as the Grizzlies made early work of the Sting 11-1 in the championship. Lil Murph lead the Grizzlies in hitting this weekend as he would go 10 for 16 and made some outstanding plays at shortstop in helping contribute to a successful weekend for the Grizzlies. Finally a weekend off before leaving for Nebraska next Thursday.

Congratualtions in the win but it was only a Usssa tournament so not that big of deal..... competition is pretty weak over there at Twin Creeks too or so I'ver heard.
Good luck in Nebraska but that's only a tirple crown tournament so you should win it....
I'm just kidding just in case ...... L Boullion

Hey Lance these are some of the same teams that enter your tournaments so I guess that means you throw some pretty weak tournaments also just kidding. See you in August the Renegades will be starting up as soon as all stars are over.

Mark it was the political B.S. as usual and I did not want to be a part of it nor did Tyler. The last 2 years I have been voted down as a coach for LL because of personal venditas the President and V.P. had against me from the past. Tyler still goes over and watches his buddies and hangs out with them. But when a kid hears all the B.S. that comes from adults and their stupidity that do not care for or like his dad then of course he did not want to play. I am all about developing the Turlock kids for later on but you know yourself Mark some parents think because their kid was an all star in LL he is an all star in travel ball and it does not work that way. My son enjoys and loves the game and works his butt off and he is reaping the benfits from it. By no means am I saying he is to good to play LL as I have been accused of in the past but sometimes certain kids need to practice more than once a week and need a coach that has the ability to teach the game instead of just throwing the kids out there and not teaching the fundamentals of the game at all. That is why the Phil Salazars, Craig Cumberlands and Paul Coopers are so important to the game of LL baseball. To you Kenny thank you for the kind remarks about Tyler but here is a little story about Tyler and all stars. Tyler's last year in minors he was brought up to pitch for the 10 year old all stars and the next year a certain board member accussed my son Tyler of taking some 10 year old spot on the all star team and that is why a couple of kids did not sign up the next year. So you tell me as a 9 year old, if you hear this kind of garbage are you going to want to play for that league and yes Tyler heard this with his own ears, the comment that came from this board members mouth. I have moved on and past that or I would have not been out there helping umpire the City Championship this year and it was fun. I can honestly say if it had not been for Randy Edwards working his arse off this year there would have not been an A/AE LL. There are alot of good people in Little League and as usual it is always a few bad ones that ruin it for alot of innocent kids because they are trying to seek revenge on the parents. All I can say is go Phillies and ask Lance and Duane who they pissed off last year.

i know about how LL can be political tony. my brother and 2 of his 12 YO friends refused to play AS when selected a few years back because of something similar.
when i refered to your boy i was making a reference to a statement i had made a few weeks ago about predictions about who could/would be the best AM/AE player this year. i said he wasnt playing LL this year, some didnt get it. after this i think they will

I appreciate you coming out Tony and umping. You did a great job as always and I like your strike zone... no cheap strikes when you work this dish. It makes for better pitchers...
The fact that you are willing to volunteer your time to LL after what's happened to you says something. A lesser man would have thumbed their nose (or given a one finger salute)...
And I agree about your comment regarding Randy. He was the back bone of A/AE this year.

TOny,
Mark was talking about my kid, not Tyler..... J?k. I would have to agree with Mark.
Lets not get into that whole Phillies things again, that was very wrong.

I am sorry to say to that my 9 year old son will NEVER play Little League for American. We are very happy in Ceres. He is an all star and everything over their is going well. I have had two sons get burned by the American side and I wont make it three. Sorry to the people who work hard to make it better, I hope it has changed but its not worth the risk for my boys anymore. There are some great people but we are done. Dropping the Philles and Duane was the last stand for us......
