The Padres unis were the bomb! And the 'Stros uniforms grew on ya. Beisdes, you had to be a bad ass to pitch in those rainbow unis (see Nolan Ryan). Most uniforms worn by MLB teams today suck... except for the traditional teams (Yanks, Red Sox, Dodgers, etc). The A's are stuck in the 90s, time to change. Their 72 - 74 World Series uniforms were a helluva lot better. My lord, they haven't changed since they last won the Series. It's one thing if it's a good look but they are about as generic as it gets. Who'd you have us dress like, the Devil Rays??? I'll take the 70s over today's uniforms any day. I might be stuck on the 70s Mike but I don't try to be something I'm not (young and stylish) by gelling my hair, wearing the latest trend, or dying my hair tips... Good gawd, some people need to act their age!

Chris you hit thr nail on the head. It is not a fashion show it is about making the boys better first and if that happens the wins will come. Just like putting a puzzle together you have to have the right pieces in the right place for the puzzle to be completed. I still believe you can prepare the kids for the next level and teach them the right aspect of the game and be a winner also. Kids get tired of always being in the teaching mode and not being able to bring home the big trophies and they do get burned out always practicing and not winning especially when the talent is there.

Crash, I'm appalled that you do like the 70's look but then you go and insult Tony for his tips and my hair gel. Well I guess we're playing for keeps now huh? The hair gel is an essential part of avoiding the comb-over look that you would probably have if you were not already bald. Tony's look is more of beach volleyball look but it is what we have grown accustomed to. My point was not all about fashion but if your gonna spend the money anyway you may as well get something that looks good and not something from the Brady Bunch era.

Tony stopped dying his tips years ago so lay off. You use hair gel? Judging from the stench I just thought your hair "look" was natural due to the build-up of body oils resulting from your infrequent showers.

You got it wrong cheese boy - I grew up in the hills of So Cal. It was only after moving to Denair for high school that I leaned the virtues of canals...

Tony ~
I agree with you 110% Especially this late in the year I think the teaching/learning mode needs to end. Its time to just play "for the love of the game" and the win. Anyone who thinks kids don't love bringing home trophies is fooling himself/herself.

You have'nt seen Mike's hair lately Tony. He hides the razor cuts with his ball caps! If you did see hair, it was a wig borrowed from Charlotte! And what's so wrong with canal water anyway?

Mike so that is why you would not take your hat off the other night at the football. If you would have worn visors you would still have hair the caps pull it out slowly but surely.

Charlotte stole the visors and come to think of it, I can't find my golf clubs either.

Hey mikey, maybe you should trade in your cargo shorts for sweat pants. Tony could send you to his taylor. If not you could go to ranger.com and find a link to 70's apparel! Oh crash........I find myself a faint and agree with mikey on the color of belts and socks being the same......sorry!!!

Kenny just moved up to double "AA", at this rate he'll be in the show by Christmas. Not bad for an undrafted free agent or was it a sign and follow?

Just to shut Mike and Tony up I'm growing the hair out... but I'll proudly display the grey and receding hairline - no comb overs, visors, caps, or die jobs for this 'ol boy. I know my age and have no need to try to fit in with the 20-somethings. Come to think of it Mike, you should be trying to relate to the OLDER crowd since Charlotte was born the decade prior to yours. I've got a pair of bell bottoms you can wear just to set the mood. I'm sure you can find an Andy Gibb shirt just for good measure. Just wondering Kenny - did you go to the same school as Tony? I'd understand the broken English if you were from the old country but you proudly wear that NASCAR crap so obviously you're family has been inbred for at least a generation or two. "I find myself a faint?" What the hell does that mean? My bad, I let my subscription to Ebonics run out...

Wow Craig you do have a sense of humor glad to see you finally coming out of your shell. I guess Mike just likes the older ladies or as you put it the older generation, but I would like to see Mike sporting the bell bottoms and the BEE GEES shirt. Maybe that could be his new coaches uniform.
