USSSA is very easy to manipulate. all usssa requires is that you 1. fill out a roster/liability release (handwritten) with all the players names 2. the players sign it 3. the parents sign it 4. manager sins it heres what the roster for USSSA is www.eteamz.com/norcalbobcats/FILES/ROSTER.PDF

Mcleanhatch is absolutely correct on the statement made that once a team has qualified and usually it is the top 4 teams in each age group he is stuck with that team he can not go back to the previous team and also if you play in one division you cannot change unless the whole team changes. But what is the good news is now I hear alot of the Turlock kids are getting interested in travel ball by doing this I think we could see a big change in the talent level of our little league teams and the big plus being our all stars. It would be nice to see about 4 to 5 Turlock traveling teams. I think Modesto and Manteca have about 8 to 10 coming out of that area.

I think Modesto and Manteca have about 8 to 10 coming out of that area. it would be awsome for the kids as they would get better it would be awesome for THS and Pitman as they will be recieving players that actually play to win and that know the game and how to play it it will hurt the local Little League because once you have played at a high level, what does LL have to offer during the moneths of Feb-July that compares to Travel, competitively that is. i feel that as more teams are formed in Turlock players are going to have to choose between beating up on 9 year old inferior players at the LL level or play against 12's that are at or higher than your level. and Little League will be the ones to shoot themselves in the foot with this. as they have already banned LL players from playing on any other team DURING LL All Stars, during the last LL World Series i heard the commentators talking about how they were close to enforcing a Fastball Only rule. Whats next, machine pitch for majors, soft bouncy balls, 10 defensive players, bat the entire team, only 10 batters per inning?

Mcleanhatch I did not even think about that but you are right what does little league have to offer except putting more restrictions on the players I know my son has already asked me does he have to play LL next year I told him I would leave that completely up to him He stated he would rather play the league out at Rainbow instead of LL at least they play real baseball. I would love to see Pedretti start a league out there like the one they have at Rainbow. I feel like it would benefit the community alot and maybe give the High Schools a bright future down the road.

CLARIFICATION: As the above mentioned tournament director regarding the August 6-7 tournament........ 1. Teams were playing at there same age as the summer season so the kids playing as 10u were truly 10u's! The tournament was advertised as a last time at your same age division tournament! There were some 9u teams (who became 10u after the tournament) This is what happens when the age cut off changes in the middle of select baseball seasons. 2. The tournament had 8 teams total (4 for 10u and 4 for 12u) The 12u really was a combinaton of summer 11u teams like the Manteca Stealers and summer 12u teams like Soledad Diablos, now they are a 13u team. Only 8 teams! It was a nonsanctioned tournament!!! I personally asked the Rangers to play or THE 10U BRACKET WOULD HAVE TO BE CANCELLED!. When left with that option the other 3 teams new that the Rangers were throwing together a team to play. THE OTHER TEAMS STILL WANTED TO PLAY RATHER THAN CANCELL! 3. 1 kid was older then allowed. He played right field, batted near the end, and is not a stud, in fact he has never played select baseball before to my knowledge. I allowed this.... 4. My youngest son, who was classified as a SEVEN YEAR OLD also played, first time ever facing a kid pitcher in HIS LIFE. I think at least 2 other kids were leauge 8's for that tournament. The team only had 9 kids!! Non sanctioned tournament....... 5. The Soledad Diablos who are a 13u old team now, beat the 12u Steelers in the Championship and the Stealers knew they were older but liked the challenge. 6. Out of the 8 teams, 3 teams were let in for FREE! ARE THEY GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT PLAYING WHEN I LET THEM PLAY FOR FREE!!!!! Our organization lost money for this tournament. (NO team has been let in for free since, so dont get your hopes up, except for the BYB who still owe for the Oct. 29-30 event). 7. Non sanctioned tournament 8. Yes I did say... "no one will notice".... meaning (and I apologize) that the older kid was not a stud.....and this was said after I said the other teams knew.... EC Crushers knew... they had older kids too!!! Nevada DirtDawgs knew but wanted to play, they had hotels booked....cant remember the last team.... so what does this matter? 9. I hope this solves this issue.... Raptor/ Pedretti Tournaments are legit and we take rosters very seriously in sanctioned tournaments. Nothing goes on without my knowledge.
Please refer to the CV Bulldogs who can NEVER play super series again because of an illegal roster and disqualification from a Raptor/Pedretti Tournament.
Also, Nov. 12, 2005 I DISQUALIFIED MY OWN TEAM because we did not have a birth certificate of a new player when the other team questioned his age.... We are 11u and the kid was NINE! We forfieted the game that we actually won becuase of a 9 year old with out a BC on a 11u team. We thought we collected his BC, but we did not.... That dropped us to the #4 seed and cost us a 2nd place trophy.....
We don't mess around.....

Hey Lance!
Thanks for all the great tournaments you hosted. I hope you don't feel anyone "in the know" would suggest anything else. I think you did a hell of a job and appreciate the luxury of playing in a quality tourney right here in our home town. Congrats!
