I'm sure that some of you guys have thought about it. But, the little leagues need to get together and take the cages over. I was speaking w/the parks and rec and they were telling me it is something like a 75/25 split with the 75 going to the contractor.
This could be a good fundraiser and allow the leagues to benefit as well as the travel ball teams in the area. The contract is up this year and they were not sure if it was going out to bid.

I wish they would move the cages to Soderquist or Julien. They would probably make more money there than at Pedretti. I played softball for years and can't remember ever using them. I know Craig, the net was to low for me to gage how high my pop-ups would go!

Well no one has made any money there yet. Maybe a not-for-profit would be able to eek out a profit.

Those machines are like $30,000 though and the nets aren't cheap, not to mention a location and the cement work. Tokens, bats, helmets, balls, and paying someone to run the dang place.
It would take 10 years of constant use before you'd see a plus.

The Iron Mike's are close to 30k brand new. Steve got his on e-bay for 10k for both (used).
