Can anyone beat this team in the tournament? A like AE's chances this year. Gotta question Riverpark's boundaries though. I imagine the league is gerrymandered worse than California's Congressional Districts.

Thanks for the confidence Chris, we'll give it our best but we (and they) have to get that far first! I did a search on the web trying to find a website for Riverpark but did not find one. I heard they split into two programs this year but I doubt that. Last year we heard that several of their all stars did not sign uo for LL and decided to play travel ball full time instead but that rumor wasn't true. I do like the idea of eliminating the areas in out (all 4 Turlock LL programs) that do not draw many players yet increase out population count considerably (such as Hilmar, Hughson, Keyes, etc). I think someone said we could then have three programs instead of four, making our all star teams stronger. It might provide better balance (player numbers) in the leagues as well... Good luck o all the all star teams. Oh what fun it is to be a kid - and the parent of one!

Oh are you coaching the 11/12 team? I'd say the chances just went down

Crash, could you elaborate. are you saying by making the boundaries bigger that we would be able to eliminate a league.
I am not understanding, but what else is new.

by eliminating Hilmar, Hughson, Denair Balico and therefore a league, the three remaining leagues get a bigger cut of Turlocks population.
i think the league that would benefit the most would be National South and American because they would take up American East terrirory, National would probly stay the same or give up territory because they might already be OVER the limit

Go Turlock! David Day did a survey and determined that National was under its population. Surprisingly, Nat South is probably over but few if any kids from the outlying areas that NS serves are actually participating. LL need to reexamine the 20,000 population criteria in light of the fact so many other organization have attracted our kids away. I think they should raie in to 30-40K. Then Turlock would be in great shape to reduce the number of leagues and become more competitive.

I am a litte more familar with District 8, which is primarily Stockton and they have 13 little league that serves approximately 300,000 which equates to approximately 23,000 per league. I think with the travel ball teams that are being created that Chirs is correct and the pop served should be 30-40. In turlock's that would mean two leagues. National and American. Turlock's Pop is approximately 70,000. But, if little league became more competitive would you gain some of the travel ball players back, and then have not enough leagues.
These are definitely tough questions with never-ending answers.

RiverPark? I would be more worried about Madera National. From 1995-2005, Madera National has won 4 Districts Championships, both Turlock American and Turlock National has won 2 District Championships. River park has won 2 and Selma has won 1. Riverpark has won two out of the last three. But based on the results, we have as good as chance as anyone. Of course, it is the 11-12 all stars that the results are reflective, but hey, we should be one of the favorites. Let's go Turlock National and National South. P.S. Has anybody checked the birth certificate of that pitcher from Amercian East last night. Whoa! that dude threw some smoke . and that bomb. Sorry Mr. V, good try!

Wow thats a huge league. They have almost as many kids as our four leagues combined! I smell something rotten.

Sounds like we need to do splitting up of their leagues. Does the 20,000 pop thing come into effect or is that just a recommendation.

Then Atwater should have a couple of leagues. The City proper is approximately 28K but if you include Winton and the Franklin Beachwood area, they would be over 40K.
Due to the growth of the Central Valley, there probably be additional leagues formed that National hasn't caught up with.
