Thanks, Chris. My first year as a manager you were the president. I stank but you were great. Your record speaks for itself, and I value your opinion highly.

Wilbur just keep doing what you are doing. One thing that can really help the kids stay in the batters box is take them to the cages. Here the ball comes in at the same spot over and over, thus you can teach them not to fear the ball. I have had players that continued to back out time and time again until I pulled out my pitching machine. I am a believer in live pitching but the machine has helped many young players build confidence at the plate. Just remember that it is not always if you win or lose at your level but how you play the game. If the Storm coaches feel it is a must to run run run then that is their choice....doen't make it right but it seems that every year there is the one coach who feels he has to run at every chance they get. Again the stealing home on the throw back from the catcher to the pitcher is garbage!! This is one reason we voted it out a couple years back. Good luck to you and your boys (and girls if you have any) the rest of the season.
Mark thanks for the kind words. There is nothing more in the world that I love more then baseball other then my family!!
To all a good day!!!

I get a little concerned when someone suggests that we are doing a disservice to our players and not asking them to give 100% i am not really saying that , sorry if it sounded as if i did. what i meant was kids need to be taught the small parts of the game at a young age. hitting is the fun part, hitting is really the easiest part of the game. BUT hitting usually ISNT what wins games i always told my parents that it would be huge if THEY took them to the batting cages as extra practice because we wouldnt be hitting much. our typical season started out with the first 2 weeks, NO BATS. its all managers agreed, they must be MEN and keep their word. although like i stated earlier, i wouldnt have ever made that decision here is something that would make all coaches 10,000% better. and i literally mean 10,000% better as i have once too many a times gone out to Soderquist and/or Pedretti to watch and/or Umpire games and have heard the coaches telling the kids the WRONG things to do. here it is. it is really easy. if you have the time go out to Turlock High School every year from Feb 1st to Feb. 15th and watch what they do. Turlock High Schools Coaching Staff is regarded by many as one of the best HS coaching staffs around
