We came up with a list of interleague agreements during a meeting last Thursday.
Here's the list of agreements does anyone have any input?
1-Have two games a week with at least 1 day in between games.
2-Mixing up the field locations so all teams have equal playing time at both parks.
3-What ever field you are playing on using their Home Field Rules
4-Each team will play the teams within their own division 2 times and all other teams in town 1 time. NS will play 3 times within their division as they have less teams.
5-Friday will be dedicated to the minors at both fields
6-Make up games will be played at 1st available field
7-Inter-league protest committee will be made up with the Umpire and Chief from both leagues, and one member from the executive committee of both leagues as determine by the presidents. If the problem is not resolved it will go before District 10 ADA Tony Lema who will have the final say.
8-Each team shall provide 1 game ball per game.
9-We will Inter-league both half’s.
10-A coin toss for Home team or choice of dug out just like in All-Stars (not finalized)
11-Once the schedule is approved we will draw teams to go with the schedules numbers a lottery.
12-Opening day will be handled with our own leagues.
Note: We also talked about a City Tournament that would include all 4 leagues instead of the TOCs.

What about inter-leagueing first half and then the rest of the way you are within your divisions.

yes, interleague with the other 3 leagues the 1st half then go against you own division for the second half.
make the league champion the team with the best overall LEAGUE RECORD.
no 1st and 2nd halves, just one full league record.
it really shouldnt matter who won the first 10 games of season or who beat the most out of league games. it should be who won the most LEAGUE GAMES THE ENTIRE SEASON.

10-A coin toss for Home team or choice of dug out just like in All-Stars (not finalized) could lead to some very unhappy and some very happy teams if some teams go 10-0 on interleague coin flips and others go 1-9, especially if OVERALL RECORD determines a very close race in some leagues

well actually Tony made a good point about the coin toss. In division play we can split the Home/Visitors evenly as each team plays the other divisional teams twice. But since in interleague we just play the opposing team once a coin toss might make things the most fair.

Chris,
GOOD JOB !! I know you have worked HOURS & HOURS and this. Thank you !!
Looks like you have covered the area(s) most likely to cause any issues. I am in favor of a CITY CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY in place of TOC's
Has there been any discussion on changing how league champions ships are determined ?

"What about inter-leagueing first half and then the rest of the way you are within your divisions. "
Scrapper, we tried to do the 1st half with just interleague, but unless the 1st half is 6-7 weeks long we would not be able to play every one at least 1x.

If you only have one chacmp and go with over all record some players will pack it in after their tem is out of it, which could be early on if they get off to a rocky start. If you have two winners and a wild card it keeps players invlolved, coming to practice, etc. If a team goes 0 - 3 to start the first half they can look to the second half. If they don't have a shot at either half they can be in the running for the wilds card. The A/AE side has done this two years and it's come down to the last weekend to decide the wild card so it's really created excitement, kept kids interested, and kept things competitive.
No play-off system is perfect but at least this one keeps the juices flowing for the most kids.

If you only have one chacmp and go with over all record some players will pack it in after their tem is out of it, which could be early on if they get off to a rocky start. thats why if you make it League record only and pack all those games in at the end of the year, like HS. I am sure at Denair you guys had like 8-10 preseason games, then the serious business starts and its all league games to the end (with the exception of Easter Break). really the only point i am trying to stress is that League Champions should be determined by League Games and those games should be towards the end when teams are at full strength. i am sure that if managers knew that NON LEAGUE games wouldnt count towards divisional championships, they would be more willing to develope more pitching and take a big load off of the horses (or in most cases the horse). 1st half/2nd half/wildcard, i see what you guys are saying.

I view inter-league as a league game, just as inter-league in the majors is part of the regular season. To me the difference is between regular season and pre-season... you don't count pre-season games but since interleague games are part of the regular season they "count" whereas pre-season doesn't. I think we also need to make interleague mean something so should count towards the record. if it comes down to tie-breaker then one of the first things you use is head to head then league records...
BTW, at Denair we had about 6 pre-sason games.

What the two halves allow is growth during the season. If coaching makes a difference then the second half will demonstrate the benefits of good coaching. I agree with crash that at the end of the first half no matter how poorly a team performed thay get a fresh start. It keeps kids more interested.
