Just a little lighter topic.
Now that we actually have some readers form the American side perhaps this might be a good time to discuss "city-wide" interleague play for next year.
National has 8 teams American has 10 teams
If each teams in the city plays one time and every team plays the team in their own league twice we'd have a great lil schedule and a ton of fun. It would breakdown the boundaries between leagues and could be a real hoot.
A championship tournment could be scheduled for the end of the year with the best four or eight teams playing to see who is the legit City Champs.
What do folks think? BTW, not my idea but I like it.

I think it's awesome. My players would like to play at Soderquist a few times during the year and the Soderquist kids can see what it's like to hit at the realtively spacious Julien field. It's a whole lot better concept than the TOC. Concession $$$ from this tourney would saty in town, it would generate more enthusiasm for OUR program, more teams would get to participate (as compared to TOC). I can't think of any negatives to this idea.

I think that would a great idea. I agree, the TOC is overated and it only for a few select teams. As long, as it didn't interfere with All-Stars, We would know who is the best team in town and would be a legit City Champion. Plus, the tournament would give more players a chance to play in tournament format. That will only help the kids who play in the all-stars and travel ball in the future.

One of the greatest rewards in LL is for the KIDS to step on the field with their friends, and to make NEW FRIENDS. I would be in favor of "City Wide Inter league Play"

This would be a lot of fun for everyone! What would it take for this to happen?

Not much really, just the two boards getting together and working it out. It should be easy.
