Looks like National may be up a team or two this year. I don't know if a major team will be added but there was definately enough talent to improve the competition.
We'll need a bunch of kids Thursday to save the Braves I think.

THE NATIONAL LOOKED STRONG LAST NIGHT IN THE TRY-OUTS. THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT MORE TALENT AND KIDS ON THAT SIDE. WITH THE NEW ADDITIONS THE NATIONAL SHOULD BE A FORCE TO RECKON WITH.

I hope we have a storm of new players tomorrow night. I'd like to see the Braves continue and Tony get a team. He seems like a great guy.

IMO, it's not fair to ask for NatSouth to keep pace w/our other leagues. The current boundaries will simply not allow this, until such time as we reline our LL boundaries - NatSouth will struggle. Go down to City Hall and look on the planners map as to where the population is growing.
The last two years the NatSouth AS team ( 11/12) has gone 2 and out...not fun at all, filling an AS roster with players who will not be able to compete in the district.
Hope fully we can use this years situation as motavation.........

I agree with Rodney, although JKB is talking about 1000 homes out by the country club. This project sounds like it will take years to complete and alot of those homes will be geared towards senior citizens.

Based on the planner's map, the next area of substantial growth is in the south. The north is stopped at Taylor and the East is stopped in Denair.
Unless the City fathers decide to go west, south is the only way to grow. I think Nat south will be in bind for the next 5-10 year until those area can afford to grow. I thknk you are right Mr. V. we are going to have to come up with a contingency plan and look at the City map and the growth areas to decide on what we should do. I think that we should start now and maybe there is an alternative that we can come up with.

AE may have potential for growth if they decide not to keep the "buffer" zone between Denair & Turlock and open up the are along Monte Vista for development. My guess is it will take off in the next five years unless we go int recession. I don't know if American has much area for growth. Seems like we need to ahve a sit down between both leagues this summer, redraw boundaries that are fair for all and propose it to headquarters in time for next season...

Lampost on Friday bring all the maps.
There is nothing like drawing lines with a couple of pitchers in you.

Dude you don't get out much if your idea of fun is drinking beer and drawing lines.

if all the growth is an AE and National then i think the boards should get together and give up some ground to AM and NS so that if boundries are frozen in the future those 2 leagues arent hung out to dry.
because believe me if they lose the 20,000 thing (many dont use anyway) and just freeze boundries then the few LLs that were smart enough to make their boundries in heavy growth areas will dominate year in and year out.
IMO LL is a numbers organization, if you have the numbers you will have better 5-9 batters and #2 and #3 pitchers, and that is what will win games. because every league will have their stud on the mound and their 3 good hitters. it will be who has the greater population for better depth that will carry the same teams deep into playoffs EVERY YEAR
