Just got home from a game. Our team lost. It was the bottom of the 6th and we had last ups. The umpire asked our team if they wanted to have there last ups and we said yes. The boys knew that they couldn't win but wanted to play. The parents on the other team wanted the game to end. It was already 9:50. I know that there is no time limit on the last game and you can't start a new inning after 10:00. They got the number of the president of the league, I'm assuming to complain. Was the team that was losing wrong for wanting to have there last ups? These are kids that want to play. I'm sure if the table was turned the other team would have done the same thing. Just venting.

Tough call. I've always been in favor of an open last inning. That is in the last inning you can score as many runs as you can. This allows for sixth inning wins. Maybe thats something the league should look into next year. Call in the League's President seems silly. He spends enough time down there.

The kids want to play so let them, yea it late but baseball is almost over for most of them so an extra 10 mins or so won't hurt the parents. Chris I think thats a great idea lets look into it.

Let them Play! Let them Play! Those parent needed a reality check. You always have to have the last ups if they are given to you. When there kids are older, they will regret all the missed opportunities even if it is 1/2 of an inning.

No, they werent, they played the field, now its their turn to bat unless League rules dictate that it is too late. 3. they sure would.

I am always amazed at what some parents think. Like you said Lisa if it were them on the losing end you bet they would want their kids to get their last at bat. If time allows then they need to finish the inning. It is not the kids fault the league has a run limit per inning. Calling the president at 9:50?? That is just crazy. Let em play!!!

I'd like to hear from Bubba on this one because he's been involved with the minors for several years.
