This really isn't a rhetorical question. Considering the wildcard playoff controversy on the American side & the 18-3 record of the NS Angels. I think it's a fair question. In any sport sometimes the best team doesn't win.
I think a round robin tourney between the best team from each American, AE, National & NS would be much more fun than the stupid TOCs (stupid only because of the scheduling hardship it creates).
I think locals would find that much more interesting and a better way to name the City Champion.
What do you think?

Yeah - I had heard the same. Apparently, 9 of the 10 major managers voted for a wildcars scenerio and the Dodger coach was the one desenter. I would have said HELL NO if I were him.

Playing a single game does not prove who the best team is. Any team can beat any other team in a one game playoff. All depends who is pitching in that one game. A 2 out of 3 would be better to decide the teams to play for the title as well as in the title game. This would force teams to utilize all of their pitching and not just their horse.

It'd be a mistake to overlook those pesky Yankee. They've given us nothing but grief.

make it a best of three, put a limit of 7 innings per pitcher in the series, and play all three games within 6 days.
that would definalty change the way a manager drafts and plays his team.
