;D IT IS AMAZING TO THE PARENTS OF THE STORM TEAM HOW LITTLE RECOGNITION THE TEAM GETS FOR WINNING THEIR DIVISION. NOTHING GOOD IS EVER SAID ABOUT THE KIDS, THE COACHING, OR THEIR OVERALL PLAYING OF THE GAME. ONLY NEGATIVE THINGS ARE WRITTEN OR SPOKEN ABOUT THIS TEAM. COME ON!! THEY WON 9 GAMES OUT OF 12, MOST OF THE TEAM HAD NEVER PLAYED BASEBALL. ALL THEY WOULD EVER HEAR IS THAT THEY GOT THEIR WINS FROM STEALING BASES, SIMPLY NOT TRUE!! THEY MADE HITS THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME. THEY PLAYED BY THE RULE BOOK. WHY DON'T WE GIVE A LITTLE BIT OF PRAISE WHERE PRAISE IS DUE? THESE KIDS HAD AN AWESOME SEASON.

I saw the article in the Journal today. Congrats to the Storm. Perhaps if you continue to post not all the things written about this team will be negative Just a reminder - ALL poster must identify themselves we don't allow anonymous posting.

BTW - We don't officially declare a champion in the AA Minors Division. We are not even suppose to be keeping the standings.

THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENT. ALL OF THE STANDINGS ARE POSTED ON THE HOME PLATE SITE. I AM A STORM MOM. IT IS JUST VERY HARD TO EVEN BE STANDING IN LINE TO GET A HOT DOG AND HEAR THE COACHES FROM THE OTHER AA TEAMS TALKING SMACK ABOUT OUR BOYS.

I don't think it is the boys they are talking smack about, but maybe the coaching technique. Congrats on a fine season tho. In the AA level it is not about winning but about sportsmanship and teaching.

THANK YOU AGAIN. THE COACHING WAS DONE PER THE BOOK. I THINK WHAT I AM TRYING TO POINT OUT IS THE SMACK WAS HEARD BY THE BOYS, NOT JUST THE PARENTS AND THE COACHES. SO WE WOULD BE QUESTIONED ABOUT WHY ADULTS WERE SAYING THAT THEY DIDN'T PLAY FAIR. WE WOULD RESPOND BY SAYING NOT TO WORRY, THAT THEY WERE PLAYING BY THE RULES AND DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG, JUST HAVE A GOOD TIME. IT GETS A LITTLE HARD TO GET THIS POINT ACROSS WHEN COACHES FROM OTHER TEAMS WOULD COME TO THE GAMES, STAND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DUG OUT AND YELL THINGS LIKE" DON'T WORRY, THEY AREN'T HITTERS, THEY ONLY CAN STEAL BASES" THAT IS PUTTING THE BOYS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ADULT TAKING A GAME TOO SERIOUSLY. IT HAPPENED EVERY GAME.

You're right. The kids shouldn't be troubled with such things.
