The Cubs were tremendous. After 14 innings of play tonight and a rough road through the losers bracket the 6th seed topples the 1st seed.
It was a long evening but a lot of fun. Congrats to both teams but the Cubs proved they were the best team in Turlock tonight.

Yes they did. Congrats to Brett also for pitching the game of his life. The Cubs were the best coached team during the tourney and thats why there are the Champs. I haven't seen many more fundamentally sound teams ever in Little League baseball.

That's probably the nicest compliment you can give Crash. Yep, Brett had a hellofa game against a tough hitting team. He came back from a rough outing and won the game that mattered. Atta baby Brett!

What a way to end Turlock Little League's First City Championship Tournament than with a night that lived up to the hype. Great first game battle and second game finisher. Makes all the work that was put into the interleague game and the tournament play worth its weight in gold. Cubs came in as the last team to join the tourney and made their impression felt from three weeks prior to tournament play. Congrats Crash and a very tough Cub Team. And while the tourney is the sweet end, you must also tip your hats off to the NS Yankees for a dominant season and coming into the finals as the team to beat. Cubs overcame impossible odds to outplay such a tough team. It was nice to see all the families out to see the game. Boy what a treat!!

And the Legend LIve on. Great Game Crash, the Cubbies always seem to find the way. Congrats on a great year and being the FIRST CITY TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS.
Congrats to the Yanks. Had a great year, you guys gave it your all. You have nothing to hang your heads on.
Overall, I agree with Rocko, This tournament was a great success, There must have been at least a couple hundred people out there tonight. Thank to all of the people that made this happen.
Can't wait until next year. Only about 8 months until Opening Day 2008.

Craig and I have a lot of fun going back and forth here But in my eyes he is far and away the best manager in Turlock Little League. His team played rock solid and that goes back to coaching

Congrats to Crash, players and parents with finishing out the season on top. Crash you know as well as I do that there is probably no higher feeling in athletics than to win a tournament let along the city championship. This has to be an ultimate high for you to win this coming back through the losers bracket, to win it all but not just to win it with your cubbies but win it with your youngest son on the team. Being an educator as you are and a coach of other teams, I can understand the high that you may be on right now. It sounds like Brett had a great day and it was his time as Ryan has been in the lime light so many times, it was Brett's time. Congrats to Brett and his teammates that helped the Cubs win it all. It could not have come at a better time than today. WHAT A GREAT FATHER'S DAY GIFT.
Sorry I missed out on the games and ceremonies as I had family time that I needed to attend and that was where I needed to be, but I was not far away. Cell phones work wonders. I would make a call now and then or receive call on the games. Of course if it were not for all the teams through out all the four leagues, this would not have turned out to be as great a season as it was. I tip my hat to all the coaching staffs, players, parents, board members and other volunteers who made this year a rememberable one that will last for a long time.
Congrats to the NS - Yankees on fantastic year. You are winners in many of our hearts as well. Good luck to all of those who are moving on.
We lucked out this year with not very many rain outs. The baseball gods were with us. I can not think of any other to way to finish out the season of regular play than to finish out with a father's day gift to all for a great season.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL OF THE FATHER'S OF TURLOCK LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL AND THOSE WHO HELPED TO SUPPORT THE PROGRAM

Thanks to all for the comments, you're way too kind. What made it really special is that every player contributed, whether it was an important defensive play, key hit, heads up base running, or a solid pitching performance. Needless to say I'm proud of what the boys accomplished. It would have been easy for them to count themselves out after the first loss but they battled until the end.
There were so many talented teams in the tourney and any one of them could have walked away the winner, we were just fortunate. A sincere congratulations to all the teams, players and coaches. Everyone has much to be proud of. Little League was nothing short of a huge success this year from inter-league to the City Tournament. I hope that success carries on for our teams in All Stars.
Congrats to the Yankees. I knew you'd battle back and the Grand Slam was clutch. You're a highly talented team and as far as I'm concerned both teams are winners. Well done!

CONGRADULATIONS CUBS FOR A FANTASTIC FINISH. KIDS PLAYED WELL AND DESERVED TO WIN IT. IF I KNOW CRAIG, HE HAD THE KIDS READY FOR ANYTHING THE YANKEES COULD THROW AT THEM.
