No my point was the year following Tony's loss of 8 players the Dodgers won a D10 title. The 8 12 problem never materialized and drafting 8 didn't seem to hurt Clapper. I agree the team should remain at 12 as its awful trying to position any more 12. although for the past few years we have burdened some of the minor teams with more.
However, 5 or 6 of any age isn't necessary under the current circumstances. Maybe N/NS should have some discussions with A/AE before they moves forward.

I'd say good coaching ( great coaching in the case of Clapper) will take care of the teams. that which is in Red is one of the most accurate statements i have heard on this board

Buchanan's team had five 12 year olds that year, and two very dominant players that carried the brunt of the batting offense and pitching. maybe its just that i have been too spoiled with very gifted/truely dominant players lately that i tend to under rate kids but i only recall 1 truly all around dominant player in Nat/NS since the year 2003 (Hayden Baldwin) im dent recall how old sneizik is but if he is still in LL this year, i feeel as if he has a chance to make #2 other kids since 2003 NAT/NS that i feel have been dominanat are Kevin Walker---ONLY AS A PITCHER Zach Olson---AS A HITTER Derick King---AS A HITTER again just my opinion..................................................although i will go on to say that the DEPTH of quality players has been pretty good the last couple of years

Mark ~
I think your comments are right on the mark (no pun intended). I bet you can add Sniezek to that list this year.

I think we can add 6-8 names to that list this year. Between the A/E, National and N/S there are several 12's that can dominate. Bush, Sneizek, Gonzalez, Murphy, Bradley, Cederlind and a few others can easily be considered with those names of the past. Lil' Greenie could but I'm concerned about his coaching he'll have this year. That is just a few, we still have Edwards, Gaffney, Cumberland and Matsamura. Trevor will have to bust his butt just to make the All-Star team. The 12's this year should have as much talent as any past group but they will have more depth than any team we've seen.
How about the progress of the American side changing the team names to match up with actual (MLB) American team names?

In terms of dominance, I guess we also overlooked Nick Voumard. He was the hardest thrower I have seen since I became involved with Little League.

JMO, but hardest thrower doesnt always mean most dominant. some kids throw a flat fastball that is very fast, while others throw a heavy fastball that might not be as fast but seems to explode into the bat the most dominant pitcher i have seen in NAT/NS since 2001 was IMO dominic enson (2001) the best pitcher a saw pitch since that time in NAT/NS was Willie Galdamez (2001 and 2002)

I hear you Mark but after seeing him pitch this travel ball season I have no doubt he's the best pitcher in the area for his age.

Greeting's to all from Sunny Arizona - and a LATE MERRY CHRISTMAS. Thanks Chris for your kind words in regards to Nick. It's hard for me ( as a Dad ) to not be biased, Nick is blessed to have a LIVE ARM and Soderstrom has done a great job turning Nick into a real pitcher....and yes he will be wearing the Blue and Gold.......

I hear you Mark but after seeing him pitch this travel ball season I have no doubt he's the best pitcher in the area for his age. there is a kid out of Atwater, last name is Floro. i think he may be the same age as nick. if so i would give that Floro kid the edge simple because he already has one brother playing baseball for Kansas State (D-1 Scholly) and another that just DOMINATED the CCC for Buhach Colony AS A SOPHMORE, while throwing upper 80's last year
