Alex hit one that cleared the fence behind the empty lot last night. To bad it will not count as the Dodgers from the American side didn't have enough players and had to forfeit the game. We played a little scrimmage against them anyways and may have a new combo up the middle. The younger boys got some experience playing the IF and did a great job.

What sux is that you could not get 9 kids to play a game. I wonder why the kids didn't show.

Not a forfeit yet. Goes before the board. Rule 4.16
Lost one player. Down to 11. 1 player sick and 2 on vacation, making the team total of 8 players.
At the Major League level and up must have 9 players to start and finish. The team is in the process picking up another. Minors can play with 8 players.
Tough call, all the players get suited up and no game.

Had the Board kept the Phillies, they would have had enough players and would not have the problems that the Dodgers are having this season.
It's all to bad, but many saw all these problems coming.......

Your double chin doesn't give you the right for 2 motions. ;D. I'll third it.

Didn't the kid leave the team a couple of weeks ago? How long does it take to bring up a player?

Noooooooooo,
Thank you my friends for the thought but no thank you. That is not my calling. My call is doing what I am doing now umpiring, watching my old team and filling in the gaps. Those who are there are trying to the best of their knowledge.
Someone else will step forward. Now is the time to start talking with parents and friends about filling in spots for next year when some of those who will not return. Talk to them get their interest, especially those who have young ball players because they will be around for a number of years.

Keith
Thank you for the kind words as well as my other friends. BUT the answer is still NOOOOOO!!! That's not my calling and what I do best.
Yes, it is very very tough not to coach but I am working it. I did better last night. On the other hand though, I believe that it is important for the returning players from last years team know that I am there to watch them with their new teammates and cheering for them. I promised them that I would watch their games when it was possible, I have missed one game.
Ahhh, coaching and cheering, they both start with the same letter, almost sound alike ha ha.
