we won our Division 4 times and only got divisional trophies once. so its something that was up to the league.
usually only League Champions and City Champions get trophies

IMO, since each is a separate league, all four league champs should get trophies. And the City Champs too. In A/AE this year trophies were awarded to each participant in the Inter-league Championship game (after the game). I didn't see what was printed on them but I suspect (or hope) one said AE Champs and the other American Champs. This is a special game that otherwise would not take place. It's fun to do and helps determine which team goes to the City Championship - but both teams should get 1st place aka Champion trophies b/c they are indeed the champions of their league. The only thing that ties them together is a common board, which more or less occurs b/c we can't get enough folks to have to separate A/AE boards. The same thing happens on N/NS... So the champs of each league should not suffer b/c of that fact.
What the boards do from year to year varies. I like what our board did this year. The year my son's minor team won the City Championship ('04, played at Soderquist) our board did not award any trophies when we won the A/AE Inter-league Championship game at Julien. Nothing really made it any different than a regular season game. I don't think we even had an announcer. The N/NS Board did award a City Championship plaque and that was a great gesture. I was told it was the first time it was done. I believe our board awarded the City Champ something last year and I hope the tradition that N/NS began continues... but all four league champs should get a trophy b/c they are separate - and equal!

it varies from time to time.
Majors 2001: AM/AE HOSTED
We got a Trophy for Winning National South. National also got one for winning National. Funny thing was Nat/NS Championship Trophies were MADE and they said "B&D Nat/NS Champions", but when we beat them we got nothing and the trophies were dumped (or so i heard), League president got mad her team had lost in League championship game 1-0 against us.
City Championship (We Lost) we got nothing, Winner got Medals. Game Held at Julien Field
Majors 2002: NAT/NS HOSTED
No trophies for NS or Nat champions, so a coach on our team bought the trophies. For the winner of the Nat/NS Game winners got Plaques (nice ones).
City Championship was another story as the winner ONLY got Medals and the loser got nothing
Juniors 2003: AM/AE HOSTED
NS AND NAT Champions got really nice trophies and all coaches from those teams got really nice Plaques, thankz to Greg Clapper and Rufus Keaton who went out of their way to get nice trophies and plaques.
the Nat/NS Champion had it engraved on trophy ( i think they had multiple lable printed on put the right ones on depending on who won Nat/NS game)
City Champions got a really nice Plaque (Am/AE Hosted at Pedretti)
Juniors 2004: NAT/NS HOSTED
NS and Nat got League Champions Trophies, nice ones thankz to Chris E. (League President that year)
City Champions (Nat/NS Hosted at Pedretti) got a nice Plate/Plaque type trophy.

Yes as they all said sometimes they do and others they don't. Happen's we did get Championship trophies for winning the National Championship. Congrats to the Cardinals and good luck to the Yankees in the City Championship. Lets keep the trophy on our side of town.

It would be a good thing to give every AA kid a trophy. Its a thrill for them and for $500 we could make sure every kid gets one.

Back in the day when I played, after the season ended we had a big party at the ball park. Trophy's would be handed out in front of everyone. There were games for the kids to play, A band playing and the best part was the kids playing the coaches in softball. A great way to end the season and have some fun too.
Chris, I agree 100% give all the kids in AA a trophy. Maybe you guys can sell a couple of Banana's and donate them ;D

Let me know if your leagues ever want to do trophies and want the best around for cheaper then anywhere, nearly at retail cost. I have a decent connections, we buy almost 2000 trophies a year, all larger then 12''.
