Good game? We stunk up the joint. Can't give up 9 runs in the 1st and expect to compete. The best part is Patrick and I had a great time after the game at the home of the Garibay's after a little rubbing it in the boys swam and hung out until 11:30 not even thinking about baseball. I hope the game tomorrow is a little more competitive

Well, if we don't play better than we did against the Yanks it won't be. Eight unearned runs... can't win that way. Hopefully we got it out of our system!

ONLY 2 EARNED RUNS? WE'LL TAKE THE RUNS ANY WAY WE CAN GET THEM. YOU WALK THE BIG GUYS AND THE "LITTLE ONES" WILL KNOCK THEM IN. TOTAL TEAM EFFORT, OUR PLAYERS WON THE GAME.

We could have given up 1 or 100 earned/unearned runs and it didn't matter. The bottom line is that the Cubbies couldn't hit. I'll tip my hat to Nick on another great game on the hill. The Yankees hit when they had to and the Cubs got sloppy on defense. I do think the final score was worse than it should have been but the fact of the matter is we put up a big goose egg. I think the Cubs are more than capable of bouncing back tonight but they have to play better than they did Monday night. Pitching wins games and defense and a lack of hitting loses them.

Good articles in our Turlock Journal today. Great synopsis of yesterday's games. Wish both games would have been close instead of Blow Outs. But, that is the nature of little league.
Yanks are definately in peek mode and will be tough to beat. I think all in all the teams with that have emphasized depth and focused on team efforts through out the seasons have faired well in the end. When you must compete in a tournament that will challenge your pitching and as a result your defense it becomes a full team effort versus relying on one or two main players to carry the team.
I hope the Tourney format stays for a long time. I think it is a great teaching tool for players and coaches. Mainly how do you not only perform during season but develop your team for a run to the championship.
In the end we will also end up a with a AE and NS City Championship Finals.

BTW, I never inferred anything else (you winning the game). My point was we'd have to play better - as a team - to beat the Padres.
Intentional walks are a part of baeball - and it was the first time I've ever done it in Little League. I'm sure you guys did it a time or two this year. You also did it to Kramer last year. Teams shouldn't whine when it happens to thier team if you do it to someone else.

I WAS NOT WHINING, JUST SAYING THAT IT'S NOT JUST 2 PLAYERS THAT MAKE UP THE TEAM, BUT EVERYONE CONTRIBUTED. JUST LIKE YOU SAID ONLY 2 RUNS WERE EARNED.

I know you weren't whining... but I did have to laugh when your fans moaned about it... cuz the shoe was on the other foot last year.
It's all good.
