I think the revenue is nominal and the volunteers have to put in a lot of work - plus our fields suffer more use after a long season. I'm not sure there's much advantage to home field or it's physcological at best and good players realize if they play their game the venue could be Mas at it wouldn't matter... Now it might be different if we had 45,000 in the stands I guess after doing travel ball for so long it's not much of a consideration to me or my players, tho it is convenient for parents. No matter what happens, fearing that the District would hold it against us should not be the reason for playing TOC... IMO the only consideration in the decision should be what's best for our teams - and that's NOT eliminating games from the schedule or stacking games up and dilutig the enjoyment of OUR season.

For Amer/Amer East, if a game is rained our during the week it should we should plan on making it up on Friday & Saturday and moving minor league games to Denair. That would help a great deal.

Dunno, we have a meeting tonight about it. The Cubs have 3.5 games to make up so far... Alex's team has play SIX games! We've only played 3. I can't believe their luck... they've only got one to make up.

I don't like the idea of changing minor league games to Denair just so the Majors can have their games. Why reschedule 2 games (4 teams, 48 families) when you can reschedule only 1 game. Move the Majors to Denair.
The minor league kids pay just as much as the majors and should not be forced to move from their scheduled game to accomodate the Majors. Yes, majors is suppose to be a step up from the minors but when your kids 8 (or 9) they don't have the option to play majors so therefore the whole minors should not be treated secondary.
Two weeks ago, my son's major league game was going to be rescheduled and "bump" my minor league son's game from Julien over to Denair. The minor league kids look forward to playing at Julien and I am glad that this didnt happen.
I also think it is going to be very hard to reschedule all these games with family vacations planned. Turlock schools have April 14-23 off and people have plans.
Also, if we extent into June people have plans. Anyway it is done, it will be difficult.

(Wow, too much rain and too much time on our hands!)

The Amer/AE board met with managers last night and they said all the games would be played and none would be eliminated. They are looking at different scenarios to get this done... Whether we play Sunday games, over the break or into June, I'm just glad games won't be eliminated from the schedule.
I felt like the minors always got the shaft too - but I think keeping the majors at Julien is part of the reward for having lived through the minors (both parents, players and coaches). If I hit the lottery I promise to build a complex that all of our players will be proud to play at!

TNLL has chosen to move the second half back a week to accomodate the rainouts. Consequently, all 2nd half games will be moved back one week. All games will be played at Soderquist...

Looks like we'll get all of ours made up this week so should be on schedule, at least in the majors. I think the minors may be behind but dunno for sure. I was told there's still talk they'll cancel the TOC. Anyone else heard anything?
