The TOC diminishes our whole play-off format and City Championship. If it weren't for the TOC the league play-offs could be held on conecutive Saturdays (rather than week nights), draw bigger crowds, sell more BBQ and basically increase the fun facotr over all. I think it's too bad that play-offs are usually held on weeknights and as a result fewer people attend. The play-offs should culminate in the City Championship... they do now but it's after the TOC and many folsk move on and attendance is not what it would be otherwise IMO. the TOC detracts from our own league and I think that's a shame. Our play-offs and City Championship should be the focal point of our league and it should end the year on a bang. Due to the TOC I think we kind of go out on a whimper.

I agree w/Craig lets FOCUS on Turlock LL, play offs then City Championships...
As Chris suggested we may need the time spent on TOC to make up all the RAIN OUTS
My Two Cents

Our game was called in the third inning last night so we now have 2.5 games to make-up (just our team) and rain is forecast for both days we play next week. This would be better for all teams b/c no one would have to over-extend their pitching.
We may have no choice but to skip TOC. In no way should we eliminate league games from our schedule just to accomodae TOC... especially when only one team from each league is involved in TOC. All Stars don't start until early July so we can extend first half make-ups by a week or two or three if needed then just pick up the second half schedule when done with rainouts and end the season in mid - late June. That'd be cool actually. Baseball in summer - as it should be!

What about playing some games on Sundays?

Sunday Games are not excluded but it really hems up everyone's pitching. I like Craig's position as it relates to the TOC. Quite frankly, I'm tired of the manner in which LL focuses on tournaments. They have pushed opening day so far forward due to the tournament schedule that the regular local season (which should be the focus) takes a back seat. The majority of little leaguers will not play in post season so why should that be the focus? It's time to dump the TOC!

Well it looks like another SATURDAY RAIN OUT. AA & AAA are done for sure on 4/1, not sure how or if the field can be made playable for MAJORS ( 5:30 first pitch )
We may have to consider SUNDAY DOUBLE HEADERS to catch up after this RAIN OUT

I think that the TOC should be second to the league and its needs. If the TOC will enter fear with the make up games, playoffs and the city championship then say we nix the TOC for this year and see how it goes next year. I also would like to see all the managers and coaches that agree with me get to gather and attend a board meeting (1st Thursday of every month for the American/American east) in unison to address the concerns of this league.

do you guys think that the D10 administrators would retaliate, by taking away home games for All Stars or future TOC's? ?? just something to think about. i am sure they would probly do something as a deterant to stop other Local Leagues from also pulling out in the future. remember these events are revenue generators for D10 Administrators and LL International i used to a board member and i am sure we were charged a fee for participation in TOC and AS, just cant remember right now off the top of my head how much it was. Home games for TOC and AS are critical to each league in that the teams have Home Field Advantage and Snack Shacks bring in big Revenue during such games BTW any1 in the "know" please correct me if i am wrong?

How much money would the league REALLY lose not having a few All Star games as compared to the Money those parents and friends would spend watching their own kids. I do not think the loss if any would be an issue to the our parents and the league. And if next year the weather works with us we could be doing the TOC again
