OK, here it goes on the inter-league thing.
National, American & American East - If each of these leagues has 5 teams they would each play a total of 21 games.
A team could play each team in their own league twice for a total eight games. They could play the remaining 13 teams in the other leagues once for a grand total of 21 game. National South has 3 teams. They could play each team in their league 3 times for a total of 6 games. They could then play the remaining teams in the town 1 time each for a total of 21 games.
Everything is fair as each team plays every non-league team 1 time. No inequities there. You could count all the games in the standing. Why not?
My two cents - Any comments - ideas?

I think your 2 cents are worth a 20 dollar gold piece...That sounds like a great idea. I hope we can work this out. Come Oct I hope we can get this rollin

That sounds like a very good plan. I think Chris did his homework. Now if the boards can make it happen

Thanks guys I think it could work. It would certainly make the town a little smaller. Kids would get to play their friends divided only by some imaginary lines created by Little League International.
I think with TNLL's committment to making significant field improvements will greatly enhance the experience for all the players as well. I know the "powers that be" can work this out. I hope they will.
I can't remember the last time Little league was being discussed in August as everyone usually has lost interest in baseball. However, planning should never stop and there never really is an off season.

That is surely the truth. This is the first summer that my two want to still play. I think baseball has finally gotten in their blood. I think your play could work Chris. It sounds equitable.
The best record wins the League Title and you change things up for the City Championship. Where it is a playoff format with the top 2 teams from each league playing it out in a Pool round-robin with the 2 best teams playing in the Championship.

What is the definition of a competing league for little league purposes? What I wonder is since there could be a Fall league run by another organization within Turlock does that mean the 20,000 pop. rules applies, or do you have to have a competing league that runs at the same time(Spring) to get a waiver on the pop. limit. Then maybe you only have National and American.

Wouldn't that be great! I'm not sure of the answer and the size of the pop waiver we could get. RP is out of compliance and Atwater (I believe) has been informed they must split. There are so many other interests with which Little League must compete that 20,000 clearly doesn't work anymore. I doubt many of the teams that advance are sticklers to the pop cap like American and National are.

From all of his comments and trouble-making on two boards, he had to be relocated in the Witness Protection Program. Don't worry your identity is safe with us ;D

Hi, this is Mel, yes, competing youth programs can be a way to get a waiver. But don't get excited because it only goes up to 30,000 for a league. There is a waiver, and even though our newly elected DA, Bob Berry, doesn't know how, we will find out. We will be going to Las Vegas in November and we plan to stop at LL Western HQ to find out how to do this. We are also thinking of going to LL World Conference in Texas this year, but right now that is only in the decision stage. Our district will not help Tony go, so it is on us. Tony and I are going to be following up on this so that we can stay competitive with the other leagues. Just to let everyone know, Los Banos split this year due to population, Atwater was supposed to, but had president problems, and RP will be forced to split, or change boundaries, which ever they choose. The is the rumor that they will quit LL and go to another program, and that is okay. I personally would find out what was pledged to LL with the fields, but the DA won't do that and will just say good bye to some hard to work with people. RP has been told to split for 2 + years now, and their BOD have actually voted not to do it until they are forced. Since a compliant came from their own league, International has been looking into the program. The complaint went to LL International. So hopefully something will be done.
OF course I would rather see a split in the District, so that our deserving AS teams could go on to sections and meet them there instead. IF the district was split, we would not have some of the horrendous drives that this huge district has, and still have the fun of playing District in a true manner. With the Area format we have, we lose a good team even before getting to Sections. I think a truer place for Turlock and RP to meet would be in Sections, or depending on how the sections are split, Divisions.

or an uneven schedule can be made where interleague games are randomly chosen but ONLY LEAGUE GAMES count in the standings for the 4 League Champions

that would probly be best for every1 if RP quit LL.
it would be best for all the other programs in D10 that CANT compete with RP (including Turlock) and it will be better for River Park and/or Clovis Unified.
River Park COULD leave Bel Passi (Modesto Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League) in the dust by means of turning out quality HS/College/MLB Drafted players IF THEY LEFT LITTLE LEAGUE.
as of right now, to the best of my knowledge, River Park and Bel Passi are the 2 top "Local" Youth Programs
