I don't need to see them out there with skirts and pom pom's either. There is a difference between a kid wanting to hit with the game on the line and a kid wondering if the snack bar is still gonna have hot dogs after the game. I get annoyed with the chatterbox b.s. Davis has become famous for and I'm o.k. with cricketts coming from Turlock's dugout but don't walk on and off the field with your head hanging in the third inning. I still live by the motto,"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser" you on the other hand go with, "Win or lose, we will still go to Hooter's". Sorry Charlie - we only go to Hooters when we have the championship in hand. Like the blind guys who were asked to describe the elephant, you and I saw two different things. For the record, I told Ryan that you thought the team gave up after the ejection... He begs to differ. Perhaps you didn't see any player rally the troops with the Rudy speech - but this team didn't skip a beat and played as they had all year. Never flinched, kept doing their thing... and came close to pulling it out. The next day they battled for 8 innings until they did pull it out. I don't see what you saw (a team that wilted). The team I saw kept battling... I just wish Vinne had been called upon to shove it up Escalon's artillery - I don't think Escalon would've ended up as Champs two years running had we done that. Oh well, time to move on to league and what really matters...

It's sad that you actually believe the crap you spew. If you can learn something from a loss that is one thing but you seem to think losing a game you should have won is natural. Maybe instead of paying for lessons for hitting, pitching, catching and infield we should check for a pulse on a half dozen Bulldogs and then spring for a motivational speaker to come in and give the "Rudy" speech. It might cost extra but maybe they can take a knee for you! BTW- The next day against Enoch's......Vince battled......the line-up struggled against a mediocre pitcher.

I think the best scenario given your enormous insight is to have you start up a travel team so you can guide these boys in the right direction and us parents can save a ton of money...
You've been bashing Turlock baseball but your son will attend Pitman next year. What's your take on their program?

boy oh boy i love it when you both go at it but the kids i thought were flat after kevin got tossed and espicially aganist enochs.they should of hit that kid good, for the cheering part even after kevin got tossed he was cheering on his team.and i know he will be doing that in collage as every one that plays in collage should do. it is not about putting on pom poms but it is standing at the edge of the dugout and chanting your team mates on,with a little enthusiasm, as for the last out even vince turned to the ump while at home plate and said foul ball, but the ump said out,and his response was WOW. And as for you coaching a team we can all go to HOOTERS take a knee and throw our hands and leave in OPPO directions.

I don't believe I ever bashed Turlock baseball. In fact I might be the biggest supporter of the program. I actually root for all Turlock kids (including Pitman). When Trevor plays for Pitman I will pull for them as I do Turlock. I have said before that Turlock has collectively the best high school coaches in the area. Pitman's coaches seem to be more travel ball friendly.
As for me coaching a travel team......I would hate to put moronic parents like yourself in their place on a daily basis. You have a tendency second guess the teams that win (me) and make excuses for those that don't (you). As for saving money.....maybe you should coach instead of paying others to do it for you. My schedule doesn't allow it but you are a teacher and have all the time in the world.
Just to clarify once again......I never bashed Turlock baseball or Pitman for that matter. It looks like I have to spell check for Flood and work on reading comprehension with you Crash.

And Mikey, please leave Turlock's version of Dan Quayle alone. Just be happy he's posting... and when you get a chance teach him how to use spell check.

I guess your version of a game face is someone riddled with about 500 bad botox injections as to resemble one of the Stepford Wives. C'mon man! You really need to step up your game. One more weak retort and I will be forced to earhole you......on second thought, I'm getting too old.....I'll have Vince do it. It might cost me a taco truck burrito but worth it.

Nothing wrong with playing with passion and showing it. Baseball is about having fun and for most of these kids that is the only pay off they get. A team with a couple of arrogant players who discourage or refuse to vocally support their teammates can be cancerous. Its BS to suggest it not important.

Never said it wasn't important, my point was that just b/c some players are not the rah-rah type (and we have several) doesn't mean they don't play with passion or aren't having fun. My other point was that you can't expect these kind of kids to become cheerleaders, no more than you could expect those that show their passion to tone it down. Great teammates accept each other for who they are. I don't think Derek Jeter expects Nick Swisher to change or vice versa. A team is made up of different personalities and I was trying to get it across to Mike that most of the kids on Turlock's team are pretty low key. I think Cal Ripken is the perfect example, leader by example - but not the rah-rah type. There's a long list of these guys - Nolan Ryan, Carlton Fisk, Jeter, etc. Some players play with great emotion and intensity but rarely show it - aside from their play - and that's OK isn't it?

I suppose if you are at a funeral......I'll still take a team with John Kruk, Lenny Dykstra, Will Clark and let's throw in a John Rocker for the hell of it. Combine all of those and you get the greatest of all time....Ty Cobb.
