I go into work later today, thanks for asking. As for Riverpark.....they will always have a solid team due to great talent, great coaching and parents that for the most part, keep their mouths shut. Turlock had great talent last year but Salazar was clueless and there were a few parents running their mouths about things they knew nothing about. Had Turlock made it to San Bernandino they would have lost to Hawaii anyway.
No need to scout for high school, when I heard a senior player walk by all the scouts at Buhach Friday and comment to his mommy that they were there to see him, I shat myself. Even if the varsity actually practiced Thursday for more than a minute they still would have struggled to beat Floro. I know for a fact there are coaches at THS that know the game but some seem to struggle with evaluating talent. Maybe it's un-fair since several of us have coached many of these kids over the years and know what they can and cannot do. But this is starting to remind me of the LL drafting philosophy of late in the draft, the tie-breaker is who has the hotter mom. It's not all bad, I did see several players practicing on their own Sunday.

Well-didn't mean to light the fire, but nice to see you are still alive. Wham, bham, thank you mame! I heard the dogs were sent to their dog house in the fifth after a ten run by BC. Perfect observation of how coaches can have all the talent, but fumble it at play.
Why do you think that is? Coaches often cut kids who go off and play college ball and do quite well, others hang on to kids that will never play past HS. I can't put my finger on it, there must be a pattern.
Well, I guess if it were that easy-everyone and their dad could be a coach.......

GDI Chaney! You know the "MILF Clause" was a secret and is to be disclosed only to other managers and only in the most discreet manner.

we beat Floro last year probly only loss to his record....but there was a solid game plan and they stuck to it........plus big contribultions from (some less talented but) harder working seniors caused lightning to strike..........
difference between last year and this year........last year the top position player on the THS team told me "i wish i was bigger and faster, so that at least one scout could look at me"...........far cry from what trevor9 heard this year......thats sad...............
whats wrong with the "hotter mom" strategy?
way back when i coached LL.........hotter mom (thats likely to do anything to have her son start. LOL) was 1st, and player most likely to quit was 2nd..............
but that was in rare instances.......usually good scouting will get you 12 players that can contribute in one way or another

Being a left handed pitcher might have helped.

Fact or fiction? Payne is transferring back to Pitman next year and Tate got a pink slip.......my money is on Hollars to choke out the first parent in front of his door.

Being a left handed pitcher might have helped. So some kids earn it? That means you don't think your wife is hot? Just trying to follow your logic... lol

I think the "hot mom" theory only applies in LL & JL -hence the "team mom" HS kids have to earn their positions. There are no tem moms in HS, but there are Booster moms!
