I have been hitting the ball pretty well for someone that has been retired for 7 years. Craig you have two more years until you hit the "Senior Circuit", they have been scouting you. They do use Miken's out at Pedretti, you should finally be able to hit one out.

Hmm... seven years? That tells ya something (services not in demand). I was hitting 'em out when you were listening to the Beatsie Boys in Middle School. And your musical taste still hasn't got any better - neither has the hair cut... or the clothes. You 80s guys just never had a clue!

You just described yourself minus the 80's. Marshall Tucker and the Ranger/Cencal clothes prove you are sophisticated and classy. I was actually a junior in h.s. when the Beastie Boys made their presence known. I wasn't a fan then or now. If you need to put some good music on the IPOD or IPHONE, I can hook you up with something. There is nothing like Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus or Hatebreed to get the blood pumping. If you would like something a little calmer, might I suggest Tool, Metallica or 36 Crazyfists. I should start charging you for these lesson's. If Flood pays JJ 75 an hour to teach Ryan to hit down on the ball, I should at least get 60 an hour. Maybe he paid for the catchy phrases he's been saying; To it and through it. Doesn't have the same ring as Throw the hands.

anyway... back to baseball. HS season is over and travel and legion get underway soon. Should be a great summer to catch a lot of quality games. I sometimes long for the good ol days when summer was just for baseball. Now with the HS teams having summer league basketball leagues and tournaments and spring football and camps the kids get pulled in different directions. By the time they are juniors a lot of kids are talked into focusing on just one sport. This is the year a lot of kids will be making that decision. I heard several players won't be playing football and/or basketball this year. Too bad b/c several of them are excellent players. With most sports going almost year-round the three sport athlete is becoming rare...

You long for the days when you could get a cheeseburger for a dime.
THS still encourages its student/athletes to play multiple sports. Playing two sports is manageable but three might be too much.

Of course they do - I'm just saying it's tough to do compared to the old days...

in these days of specialization it is tough to expect a kid a play all three and be great at all of them.............for a kid to get a scholarship while playing football, basketball, and baseball he better be 10 times better than the guy concentrating on baseball, doing travel and showcases all summer. colleges like a polished player with advanced knowledge of the game more so than a kid that has raw talent................
