Masrk- your friend at Nor-Cal is a wise person-couldn't agree with you more. The THS varsity team may have names on paper, but a few(handful) of kids can't change the atomsphere of a team that was tainted from the start. It is unfrotunate for Kramer and Wheelend to carry the burden. Holding my breathe until this year passes as is os many others. For the years to come that team will have more than just names on a paper.

My dad always said, "Alway be better than your equipment." It was probably just a way for him to keep from having to buy me a new bat. The bigger message is stay humble and hungry. We indulge our kids too much and then we expect them to be hungry.
I said in a previous post or maybe in a column that Kevin Karmer could hit a ball with a four foot length of garden hose. The best players play for themselves and not their parents or others. You can tell he loves the game.

Spanky you amaze me.......Do you think kids would play the game if they had funky unis? Think back-last year the THS summer legion ball was wearing jerseys that looked as though they were the leftovers at the GoodWill-didn't change the way they played. Question raised- has the under armour gear gone to their heads?

i remember when my brother was a frosh at THS and was invited to try out and made the summer legion team.
the day he got his jersey I remember seeing it and asked him if he couldnt find a nicer one. it was so used that the royal blue was more of a FADED PURPLE.
his response was, "who cares, i get to play with Tom and the varsity team". all he cared about was the chance to play with the varsity players and for coach Mendo....
too bad there are less and less players like that..............
until parents have to common sense to step back and let coaches mold their children into young men these kids will continue to behave like children....................

That was the same response I got from Kramer, Flood and McDonald last year when they got their purple jersey's. They were three freshman that just wanted to play.

maybe if hell freezes over...........
i think they are mathematically alive......but they are going to have to win 3 games and have everyone in front of them LOSE OUT, except Merced who will need to sweep GV
