What does everyone think of it? I think it's total BS. But I guess we will see once the games start. Why punish the 9/10 team so all of the 11's can make All Stars?
For those of you who don't know there is no 9/10 team this year. They have an 10/11 and a 11/12 team. If the #'s aren't there for an under 10 team, drop it. Why add 10/11 thats going to get destroyed just so someone can say my kid made AS?

No surprise there. I thought LL made a good decision in retracting the prohibition of travel ball during the AS tournament. Wow - now they follow that decision by another stupid one. For an 11 year old to make the 10/11 team is like kissing your sister. Where is the honor there?

I thought there were no 9 year olds on the N/NS side.

Pull them up from AAA. I heard most of the top 10's told them to shove it.

So there aren't enough 10's to make an all star team or are there too many 11's to make the 11/12 team so they want to move into the 10's territory? Somebody is looking out for somebody there I'm sure. Always seems to be the case when All Stars roll around ;D ;D

Its a LL international decision. Not even the Lemas can manipulate the tournament ages. Though I seem to remember Mel overlooking an illegal player a few years ago

I thought the teams were 10 & 9, 11s only, and 12 & 11s? There used to only be 12U, which 11s could play on, and 10U, which 9s could play on. Then about 5 years ago LL International added an 11 year old all star tam - but my understanding was only 11 year olds could play on it?

I was told today they re-voted and changed it back to the way it should be. 10's & 12's. I was told that two of the board members had a game the night the board voted to have an 10/11 team instead of a 9/10. Conveniently, that put a majority vote in one family which voted in their best interest. The parents of several of the best 10's as well as one of the 11's, whose dad is not fit to coach little league, decided to opt out. I guess that was enough to get a re-vote and do the right thing. I'm glad all three managers of NS decided not to put up with this crap and do what is right for the league. Great job Mike, Bill and Tony D.!

Somebody is looking out for somebody there I'm sure. Always seems to be the case when All Stars roll around ;D ;D Tell me about it. Everyone wants to be Joe and myself best friend lately. We even had one guy follow us to Applebees after a game. You would have thought he would have bought dinner and drinks for everyone but he just mooched and drank on the Tury's .

Oh my gosh Greenie, that was my husband He said he offered to pay but Rob picked up the tab before he could pull out his ESPN visa card Should Drew earn a spot on your all star team he'll get there on his own. He led the Marlins in almost every category and had an outstanding year. As much as you would like to admit you just want me around, it will all be on Drew.

Offered to pay... I missed that one . The way you bad mouth me from the other side I can hardly wait to see you on my side. Patrick really doesn't want to be a center next year in football so I think Drew will have a good shot at making the team . It's going to be tough choosing the team like it always is some folks will be happy and others pissed off.

It's going to be tough choosing the team like it always is some folks will be happy and others pissed off. who cares.....theres always going to be unhappy families.....first time i did it i had to sit in a meeting with a manager who swore his kids were AS Starter material..........he came in with his inflated stats.........that year (Juniors) i chose almost all 13 yer olds......he was infuriated because his 14 year old kids werent chosen by me...........ahhh the good ole days when the AS Manager had sole discression on who he wanted on the team......... i still remember him saying "Perez Who? Galdamez who? Serpa who? Clapper who? O'Donnell who? these are 13 year olds, they arent as good as my 14 year olds!" my answer was "my 13 year olds finished with a 14-3 record and won NS, then they won NAT/NS, then they won the City Championship. Your 14 year old went 1-11 in NS, who's better?" the good ole days!!!!!!! I LOVE TRAVEL BALL!!!!!
