Yes bro the outfield was in need of some work for sure. They do need a good mix for the infield also because the crushed brick on top of blow sand does not do well. Did they fix the sprinkler's for the infield as well or does the left side still play quick?

Infield and outfield bro. My understanding is it resembles Pedretti's system. The also suppose to be a hose bib behind home plate.

You can install a obx (in ground) for the hosse bib and keep a short hose on it (which can be stuffed in the box). This allows the batters box to be watered quickl between games. I suggested this to the Ciy for Pedretti a few years ago and they did it (tho they rarely make use of it... but I do when we play tourneys there!). You got to make sure that whoever drags it doesn't drag over the box but if it's up against the backstop there should be no need to drag that area anyway. If you wet it between games the key is to water the area first then throw dirt in the hols, tamp it, then lightly water it again. If you throw dirt in the holes only the top soil get wet and the stuff underneath is still dry and loose. You should do the same treatment for the mound between each game, sliding areas, too.

you should actually just take out all the sand in the batters box and replace it with clay like the kind used on pitchers mounds

what clay?? They have no clay at soderquist. Has been the worst mound I have ever seen for the last 3 years. I would think with our league not paying umpires we should have some money somewhere in the bank for more improvements such as restrooms or drinking fountains. For being a city park it sure doesnt get the attention one would expect for our children.

i know.
i meant they should buy some clay like the kind used on pitchers mounds.
they should dig out the batters boxes about 6 inches deep and fill it in with clay.
they will hold up a lot better than plain ole dirt
maybe build a mound with clay while they are at it.
