There was a great game last night between the Giants and Cards. Man-Child threw a NO-NO and Ltl Byrd threw a 3-hitter complete game. That is the first game I've seen with the pitch count that both pitchers threw complete games. It was a great pitchers duel. It was fun to watch.

Definately some great pitching. 87 pitches each LOL. Defense or lack there of was the difference. Grayson got no support and Zach need very little help striking out 14. Goodness, i wish we could hit!

It sure looks like pitching has been the difference ( so far this year ) the YANKEES have had 1 NO HIT and 2 SHUT OUTS
GAME 1 v CARDINALS : Combined NO HIT -SHUTOUT GAME 3 v ANGELS : SHUT OUT ( Nick 5 innings..Brennan 1 inning )
It's always been said that in the early part of the year PITCHERS have the advantage...but in my past observations as the arm strength increases ( later in the year ) so will the velocity of the fastball ( this has been my experience with Nick )
IMO pitchers will get better and better...............
GOOD JOB ZACK !!!!!!!!

That is a scary thought, if the pitching gets better. I think it is going to be the mind set and what day of the week it is to determined who wins. But even in the bigs, pitching and defense wins championships.

Congrats to Zach on the no-hitter and the Giants on a win. Gman gave up 3 hits in which one was a bunt. If you cant score you cannot win and if your teams defense gives up 5 unearned runs in a 5-0 loss the chances of winning are not good. I enjoyed watching both young guns throw gems. Okay so I was cheering for the kid in red just a tad more. Congrats Giants.

Yeah, it going to be a long season if Gray doesn't get any defensive help or run support. That takes nothing away from the great game he pitched though. Give him an atta boy.

Not taking anything away from M-C but Gray's 3 hitter against the mighty MIB is a little more impressive than a No-No against a VERY young Cards team. (Did I say that P.C.)

I think as a parent I would be remiss not to inform our little league community that our National D-Backs have a lefty named Sage Padilla who just might be the best kept secret in the National League. Sage opened the season throwing a no-hitter vs. the Nationals. Then last night threw a 2 hitter against the National South Yankee Juggernaut in a losing effort after our bully struggled late. All of this may not sound all that astounding until you consider he has never played Little League baseball. Look out, because we think he's only getting better!

Hey welcome to the forum kid86. He sure pitched a scrappy game last night and I am indeed surprised that he hasn't played before. Kudos to Sage for his great efforts against the Bronx Bombers!

Yep....Very well pitched game by SAGE. The YANKEES hitter's suffered from the crafty lefties fastball , which threw off our hitter's timeing...........Good Job D-Backs and Sage. We will play again , and I suspect Sage will be on the mound, The YANKEES hitters are looking forward to another opportunity.

The Padilla kid has baseball in his blood. His uncle was a LL legend. 1983 Turlock National all-stars, he hit 12 homeruns in 18 games. Looking back, I must have been the second best player on that team....lol

Not taking anything away from anybody but I hear "officially" it was a 1 hitter. Only complete game no hitters recieve credit as I understand it.
