I've already told you privately but just wanted to say it again publicly. Wow - it was fun to watch.

in the 2 years that we were down there only 1 was thrown, same kid almost had a second but walked a kid with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th.

Nick was locked in last night. The thing that impressed me the most is that it was against one of the better teams. He showed that he is a pitcher and not a thrower.
The Cubs on the other hand......lets just say that Bracket and Gonzo were too much. It doesn't help to have Murphy calling the game from leftfield.LOL The highlight of the night was Nick's performance but a close second was when I got home and checked the e-mail.......Cumberland pulls a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. , I've seen it all now. The Cubbies have an excuse......our "manchild" was hurt.

Congrats to the Voumard Family,
There is nothing better in life than to hear or in this case watch our children perform well in an activity that they love. In your case Rod, being on the field side by side with your son has to be an ultimate high. To be a part of his success has to be so rewarding to you and your family with all those long hard hours that you and your son have put in to get to where he is today. And yes I am sure that mom has had a part in this as well in one way or another, congrats to mom.
Not to many families have that opportunity to receive these kind of awards. There a lot of players out there without a father or family support, so my friend cherrious (sp) while you can today because we don't know what tomorrow will bring. I know that it would have been the icing on the cake with that 18th strike out, but I think you now know how River Park felt last year when they were one win away from the World Series.
With all the hard work that your family and your son have put in, congrats again and good luck with the rest of the season, please be careful and play safe.

NICK HAD GREAT COMMAND OF HIS PITCHING AND WE ALL GOT TO SIT BACK AND JUST WATCH IT TAKE PLACE. WAY TO GO NICK. I THOUGHT I SAW RODNEY FLOATING AROUND THE BALLPARK AND I DOUBT HE'S TOUCHED THE GROUND YET!!!!!!!

No excuses made from the Cubs, the Padres desrved to win.
Congrats to Nick. I know how much time he's put in. He's a great example for any player that wants to achieve great things... put in the time and it pays dividends. Wanting it alone doesn't make it happen!
